I have 3 metal bearings on my Talons, and a PVC rear pivot.
Works great on my flushcut dropdeck.

Some of my favorite wheels.

Regardless of the history.....the Talons seem to be......in their own league. Non-precision trucks don't compare. The bearings are in there for a reason. Those things.............TURN! AND.....they can be configured to be quite stable. A little taller than average.....but that can be.....a good thing.

I had a great time up there......learned a few things......and hope to be back.
Hope to roll in from the mongo ramp, next time.
Need to practice it, first.
