I think i'm a bit confused here. Marion had talked about holding a race for a while, but it wasnt "serious talk" until Dave Gale made it clear that the West Virginia race wasnt going to happen. At that time, Marion stepped up and said he'd hold it in North Carolina...this script can all be found som...

Yes, Radikal pins break. I've broken two and one time was at speed with no pads....shoes...shirt......... BOTH times were flatland pumping. Both times were with a kingpin/baseplate that had not been modified with the "recessed thread". If your baseplate is threaded all the way to the top of the open...

Hey Adam. Here's a 70's Turner that i picked up a couple years ago. It's been well ridden and the nose has had a couple whacks, but the board is still rideable....I paid 200.00 for just the deck and i still think i got a great deal. It's worth more now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/KCRChris...

1973 Ick
This is the one that started it all. As far as i can tell, it's the very first slalom deck.
Hand layed resin over mahogany.
Price when new: $7.00
Price now: ?? Doesnt much matter, it's not for sale.

About 2 years ago, my old cat got very sick. He was about 15 years old, didnt move much anymore and was really in tough shape. the only reason we hadnt put him to sleep already was because my two kids (3 and 5 yrs then) loved him and he loved their attention. Anyway, it became obvious he was in pain...

actually, the pps36 is what i'm looking at....but i've already got a great board...But being a fiberglass board it's heavier and stiffer than the carbons out there. This would probably bother me on TS, but on big hills it's real stable....then....dammit.....i go down for a couple Columbus sessions a...

I'm sure you'll have a half dozen boards to try out at Kenny's next gig....We'll be there...I figure i'd hold onto the Ick and sell an old board to raise cash for a big pistol too....not much purpose in keeping the old stuff around anymore...may as well have a new board to not ride! It's scary inside that head of yours aint it? The reasoning is sound....and would be highly applicable to TS and possibly hybrid courses. heh heh...you know TKO, that's something that i thought about as well....and that's a reason i was considering getting a newer board....but with enough leg strength, the opposite would be true. Good idea...Thanks Hans......actually, that would change the layout of race results a great deal... Worst case scenario now works like this in a 32 skater race #1 faces #32 in the round of 32 #32 wins by upset and faces #16 in the round of 16 #32 wins and faces #8 in the round of 8 s/he loses so he ...

OK...here's a question for the techies...is there any REAL advantage to one board that weighs less than another. Are race results based on qualifying positions?
OK....i'm just starting to read the slalomranking site and i'm confused about something. It looks like the top 4 racers in an event are given the 1 thru 4 points....and everybody else goes down the line in their qualifying order, not by how they finished the race...Case in point. If i were to qualif...
