Re: A problem with image and perception.
I don't know... It seems to me that what we do is pretty atractive to skating and non-skating population, irrespective of the format. Our crew mostly skates on nice parking lot in Coquitlam BC, 5*-6* pitch, somewhat short, nice runout. We do not have space for 100 cones, nor whole crew rides at the ...

Re: Question about Riser Pads & Bushings
Ah, washers... Front: Flat washer roadside; flat washer boardside (or few if you needed to adjust height for the bushing seat to sit level). Back: Large flat washer roadside, if too turny replace with cupped. Before you go for anything fast, try leaning the board to the max while stationarry, to che...

Re: Question about Riser Pads & Bushings
Welcome! It's a bit of far shot, but start here: 2 angled Khiros in front, thin ends forward (wedged). If it feels too turny, drop to 1; If it feels as the front truck is resisting the turn at first, then turns too viollent, drop to 1 wedge, too. 2 angled Khiros in the back, thin ends forward (dewed...

Re: Slalom angles and beginner setup
Imo, rts kinda sucks... Seismic is way better rear truck. It needs to be set very dead, 12 to 15 dewedge. It offers great precission and rebound.
Bennet 5.0 can be trimmed to 4.0 and spaced back when needed. I run mine at 10*. Defimitelly spherical!

Re: Does anyone care about ranking?
Not that I attend the races, yet I have an opinion... Sport is too small to have divisions. No one is really a "pro" by the real meaning of the word. Keep it simple, one open class, one ranking, one year cumullative poins. You still can award the prizes for top 1/3, mid 1/3 and last 1/3, if need be....

Bushing Duros Chart
Lot of people searching info on the duros... I thought it would be nice to have a comparative chart:
This is NOT verified work. It's based on some of my online research and information that other people have sent to me.

I'd like to compare this with dinghy sailing, another sport where people often remain quite competitive into their 40' and often longer... I sailed on quite high level in 2 classes, Laser and Finn, so I'll use them as an example. Finn Masters starts at 40. Laser has Masters starting at 35 and has su...

WTB/WTT: Seismic, Randal
WTB: Seismic 30* base;
WTB: Randal 28* base;
WTT: Seismic 45* base, Randal 50*, Bear 52*, or bunch of bushings, for your Seismic 30* base;
WTT: Randal 50*, or Bear 52*, for your Randal 28*, 35*, or 60*. For 28* or 60*, I'd add cash or some bushings.

Hey thanks! Funny, my favorite setup is so similar to what you described as your GS: 20.25"-22.75" wheel base, Bennett 5.0 at 13 wedge, Seismic 130/30 at 13 dewedge and often run Grippins in 78a/84a split duro (but prefer lemon/lime Zigs)... Even funnier is that I'm constantly faster on that, even t...

Wider trucks
Just wander, if anyone runs wider trucks then pretty standard 100-110?
I tend to like 120-130 width and a bit longer wheel base. I run mostly 9' spaced cones, as I ride with couple of begginers. I'm a bit of a biggenier too, but getting better.
Pros and cons?
