Re: Slalom angles and beginner setup

Cheers for the thoughts on setup! I'm planning on swapping the rear seismic 130mm with my RTS 130mm one night this week. I'm also going to go with my smaller 62mm wheels as my 75mm wheels feel a little like they’re going to slide out, some how? If I were to get new ones, they’d be lime/pink 70mm zi...

Re: Slalom angles and beginner setup

I'd recommend 8˚ (6˚-10˚but I like 8˚) on a bennett, it shouldn't quite turn as much as you think it should IME, I like a board which I can just about wrangle through the course (longest wheelbase, widest trucks, stiffest trucks etc. within reason). I'd put it on the 20" wheelbase, try to source a 4...

Re: Radikal compatible axles from Buzzed

Do you know about threads they have on those? threads as in the physical threads on the axles or forum threads? they are the same threading as Rad axles, as their trucks were designed around Rad axles originally, so these match up perfectly. A quick search on silverfish for "buzzed" or probably eve...

Radikal compatible axles from Buzzed

I'm in no way affiliated with Buzzed Trucks, I just saw them on Silverfish and they have brought out some new axles, which are Radikal compatible. "Our axles are being made out of a patented steel called Stress-Proof. The yield strength of Buzzed is 100,000 psi (minimum) compared to (correct me if I...

Tektons

Hi guys, I'm wondering if any of you have tried out Tektons yet? they look like they could be a good way to make both cast and precision trucks grip more, and I'm thinking about getting a set, but I want to know if the flanged races make a difference or they are just marketing patter. I'll likely ge...

WTB: precision trucks to experiment with

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a precision rear truck to try and trade on, so I can gain experience and find what I do and don't like. I'm looking preferably for an RKP (rad, cindrich, virage, perhaps even a GOG or split?) but would take anything for the right price, no preference regarding sphericals ...

I see what you mean, but it is pretty simple to start it non-competitively. cones/chalk. skateboard. helmet that is as simplified as the explanation you gave for soccer. admitted, there are more things to change in slalom, but if you are just starting out it is simple. IMO it was easier to learn to ...

Re: Kramer!

Hey Jani! Henrys record was 7 time! Lynn Just hit #8 ! And she is still charging! JB for TS , yes this board would be killer. If you are a big dude, Joe Mac is 6foot 3 and is riding a 2.5 skully for TS and he is the current World Champ! I am quite big and growing, but not huge (6' 1") I am looking ...

You described my problem perfectly, the deck feels big and sluggish through the <6" offsets, I have redrilled the wheelbase 2.5" back on both trucks at the shortest wb, giving me plenty of space in the front, but 5.5" in the back. at the moment I have to angle my foot around 70 degrees forward, whic...

alright, I think I'm gonna stick with my hybrid deck for the moment, hopefully get to try the other deck out in a few weeks and see whether or not I even like it. I have a pps foam kit coming in a few weeks, so I'm gonna put some concave on the tail and see if that helps me lock in and get the lever...

I am skating with the other brighton guys, and making it to events whenever I can, but I don't know of anyone else with the deck I am looking at. Most of the decks people ride here are twice the price of the decks I am looking at, and however lovely the concave and overall feel and quality of the pi...

Second board.

Hi guys, I have been skating for just over a year now, and got into slalom about 4 months ago. I got my first setup (skaterbuilt hs conekiller, bennett 4.3 and skandal on mixed zigs) secondhand about 3 months ago. It is nice for running through some tight courses (what I mainly do so far) but I thin...

The stock bushings work nicely as a toestop, due to the added height. they work great in the bennetts for a cruiser carver too. I never tried the old stock, but they were like an opaque orange weren't they?

Nice trucks! Not interested in selling any to a fellow brit in the near(ish) area? :) I have been considering chopping my 4.3 down to 87mm for ts, which leaves me the option to space back out with bearings spacers, or adjust every 2mm using speedrings.

Post your bennett mods! Pics would be nice, but not necessary, just post details, what it improves, how much it cost, and if you can remember the name of the product you bought (if you bought one) such as sphericals, counterbores or axles. I converted my 4.3 and 5.0 bennetts to accomodate sphericals...

why not? surely bennetts are one of the most - if not the most - popular slalom trucks on the market.

Hi guys, I have been getting into modifying trucks recently as a cheap way to make a big difference, and I am thinking about cutting down some trucks. Hi guys, I am really starting to get into slalom, going to local sessions and any events I can etc and I am looking for the next step to improve my setup.
