Re: Tight Slalom, Bicknell Hill, 9-2-11, after dark

What happened: Gilmour set up a massive station with platters & speakers and the works at the bottom of the hill and fired up the disco music. We practiced for a bit before a kids race was run briefly at the bottom of the hill. After that the main race began. Maysey, Floyd, Tiger, Zak, Gilmour, Dave...

I agree the ranking is important. I agree that the standards need to be high and the aspirations higher. - but - It's always someone else who isn't doing what's necessary. In case you were wondering, it's OK for you to put on a race here. As a Santa Monica Bay native who has spent most of his life s...

Don't worry, it will work fine, either Skennett & Skandal or Skennett and Airflow. None of them are too narrow for HS. Try the gear out, ride it for a while in the various courses. Come back and let us know how it goes.

#1 for super G is the hill: It needs to be big, steep and fast. Individual cone spacing can be 40, 60 feet or more although the average may be less. The point of super G is speed. I like to think of technical GS and super G as distinctly different types of courses. In a real super G, you might have ...

This is also a problem with Rads that I thought was supposed have been fixed with GoGs. With my Rads, to run this narrow, I had to grind down the baseplate flanges and run the bolts upside down to avoid truckbite. It's a nasty thing to do to expensive machined trucks but preferable to a faceplant.

Now that Richy has the record for 100 cones clean (congrats Richy!), the thought occurred to me that it might be fun to have another record for the most cones clean in one run. 100 cone fixed cone spacing

I've always wondered why the 100 cone doesn't have a specific cone spacing. I think it would provide a better apples-to-apples comparison of times. Putting aside the issue of slope variation, can someone provide a sound argument for not having a cone spacing requirement?
