Jack, You ask an excellent question...and the way the system works now, there is no clear cut answer. I reckon the only answer would be to create a new "World Rankings" system as in golf....where basically everyone competes on the same level regardless of Pro/Am or Senior status. This is why the farm is always an "OPEN" race. It gives the AMS a chance to compete with and possibly beat the pros...just like the British 'OPEN' Golf tourney....where Justin Rose nearly won it as an AM several years back. That's the entire problem with the East...there are only a handful of Fros. Even if the farm had an unlimited sign up....how many more pros would come....probably none. It all comes down to $$.

Yes the point system needs to be dealt with. Maybe for a race to be considered a Main...the promoter(s) must offer X amount of prize $ and the sign up must be unlimited. As far as I understood, the Farm race was one of the bigger races for the east coast of the year. Being a bigger race and my opinion, it seems like it would be of best interest to change the dates to accomodate some of the better riders that of which are coming out of Colorado and will be attending...
