Hi Tim, You have all the right pieces and you're assuming correctly that moving the rear truck back is the current trend with a kicktailed board. I've started new slalomers on 16-18in. wheelbases and had good luck getting them accelerating through cones with very "dead" rear steering angles and bush...

Joe, I'd have to go along with Ron and suggest the RTS... If you're setting your deck up correctly for slalom i.e. w/ the rear truk steering less than the front... the rear truk actually tracks INSIDE the line the front is tracking on in a turn... so a wider rear truk will have more chance to do the...

Larry, the Midnite Special is slightly concave and cambered... I foam wedged the rails and cut a wedge kicktail for it and loved it!! The Sled Zep is as full shaped in front as the Special with a trimmer tail and has a rather aggressive "warp" style kicktail... this was a dream deck of mine and Cfav...

Michael,

IMHO,

A 60* baseplate for that spherical hanger would
cure a lot of front truck mounting troubles
(less wedges, bent hardware...swearing, etc...)
and maybe a better match for the dead rear angle you're offering.

It looks to me that these hangers are cross drilled in a position that suggests that a roll pin
is being driven through to secure the axles.

This would make the axle that much harder to extract if a different one were to be made and utilized...

maybe speed-dealer could clear this up??

Gordon, If you're really into TS, be sure and invest in an assortment of wheel sizes also...as in smaller. Controlling your speed in super technical courses is easier while managing less inertia/mass... and don't be afraid to use smaller wheels just in front if you can't seem to "catch up" to the co...

Mark, If you're looking for quicker transitions for tighter courses try a smaller wheel diameter on the front truck like a 66mm Zig Zag or a 62mm Seismic Cambria. you'll give up some roll speed but sometimes that's the trade off you'll have to make to stay in bounds on more technical courses... the ...
