I don't know if this might help or not but maybe getting together some professional looking documentation relateing to what you want to do. It should probably be in non-skate speak explaning your objectives and experiences. Also maybe talking to skateshop/park owners and other motivated skaters on h...

Here are some photos I took. Due to the quality of the camera and my horrible photography skills alot did not come out good. Here they are anyway, I cropped most of them for size and easy viewing. There is also a zip file for anyone who just wants them all. I apologize once again, If you were there ...

Maybe next time I can show up and skate with you folks. I was chasing my longboard around Newburyport's bowls not realizing this stuff was going on minutes away. Yeah Yeah Derek told me about it the day before, but I just flaked out. I do that often.

Hey Derek I probably won't be able to make either of those Newburyport sessions. I definetly want to run cones this weekend, Saturday would be best for me. I'd even like to skate some bowls too, my back is all better but now I'm sporting holes in my knees from many nice falls this past week. Sunday ...

I'm very interested in the September races if not to race, at least watch and learn. I work in Somerville so if any help is needed in the evening the night before or day of I can get their pretty quick. The hype over the Charles River park is very cool. I can't wait for it to be a reality. Hopefully...

what'd you do to your back? Don't let this guy fool you guys, he's fast like the wind. Anyone who does ollie disasters on a 44" longboard at Newburyport is one to be feared. He gets no head starts. I don't trust that homemade board either. That thing will need to be inspected before race time. I th...

I'd be very interested in some slaloming on the 8th or 9th of May. This upcoming Saturday I'm busy helping a family member move(if my back gets better) but Sunday I'd like to skate anything or everything, i'm not picky. I get no internet or e-mail on the weekends so if anyone would like to skate wit...

Man I want to go too, but I got to much crap to take care of this weekend. Hey Derek when we meet up again you could try my skate, it has an angled riser in the back as well as the front. Both are pointing to the nose. It might not be as stable as yours as its homemade and the trucks are peiced toge...

Need some pointers and a session

I'm just getting started with skateing slalom. I have a skate that is a homemade deck with some 3dm Cambria and some no name trucks that I've been tuning. I've been skateing for quite a few years and have been longboarding for about 4-5 of those. I've never run cones and would like to give it a try....

wheelbase info needed

Hi, I'm constructing a slalom board to learn on. The deck is 28.5 x 8 and I'm not sure what my wheelbase should be. I intend to try and learn tight slalom with it. I've had the wheelbase measured at 19.5 inches but i'm not sure if this is going to be too big. What would you veterans recommend for a ...

I don't know about the power thing. Your right about 1.) It is a little harder to setup foot positioning for obstacles especially where space is tight and there are many obstacles to hit and speed is needed inbetween. Mongo footed wheelies don't occur once you get comfortable, I mostly skate with my...

I'm 27 and I haven't started yet : o (
I'm poor so I'm waiting for Santa to give me some slalom wheels for X-Mas. By then my deck should be ready and I'll start the learning. Currently I'm visiting this forum to learn anything and everything I can to get me started.
