I find it amazing to see what has come out of slalom skateboarding in the last few years. I would think it benefits skateboarding as a whole. Killer trucks like the TTC, PVD, Radikal (above) , Airflow, Splitfire, composite decks, wheels, etc. What other skateboarding discipline has generated so much...

It's like using an Aston Martin DBR9 to go get groceries (I had to post a pic of my latest racing fetish, sorry). A Honda Civic will do much better for that, while the DBR9 will spank the Civic on a track, ANY Civic! Chris hey if your gunna post your racing fetch ;-) ... http://www.gryphonsolo.com/...

Foam Core "Ick Stick" -- This one is 30 1/2" x 8" x 1/4" camber. The wheelbase you see is 17 3/8". At this wheelbase it is a great very stiff flex under my 170lbs. It can be drilled out for longer wheelbase. It has solid plugs for more drillings if wanted. So really this deck would be good for maybe...

Kenny,
Coming from such a good skateboarder as yourself I take what you say as a very good recommendation for a fun carving toy.
How is the durability of these? Do they hold up well, have you had any breakdowns? And would it be easy to get parts for them if you needed any?

Thanks to all who offered but one person bought the lot. I’ve got two sets of PVD R2s with all the various angle plates, extra axles, and MANY-MANY bushings. Except for some minor road dirt pits, and very minor scuffs on the outside hanger of a couple, all the pivots are in top-notch, and my feeling...

I'm with Alex on this subject. There are now other cores and resin systems that have properties that far excede the Polyurethane (PUR) foam and Polyester resin (PER) that was/is used in those decks. None the less, I feel Bobby Turner was the best at using those materials as far as skateboards go. An...

Noah, Go to an Army Surplus store and get a camo laundry bag. Perfect for a TS or Hybrid setup. Of course this is just for protecting a nice foam core or carbon finish deck and does not have handles like the above. Basically just to keep the bottom from getting scratched up in transit or the non-ski...

Re: 30? I'll have 40 please, thank you very much
I got my first steel-wheeled Roller Derby in 1964 or 1965. When I finally stepped up to a sweet laminated Hobie Super Surfer 1967ish (white composite wheels with gold printing) I knew I had arrived. I still think that was a great board. We ground through dozens of sets of those composites and had t...

What kind of setup are you trying to put together, a TS or GS? What type of deck is it? You could if you wanted to, cut down your RTX hangers yourself if you wanted a narrower truck up front for a TS setup and wanted to use an 88mm offset in back. Or you could put the 88mm Midtrack up front like on ...
