Tway,
I'm in. Sunday?

Let me know and we can spread the word. We've got new skaters that need the road time.

It was great Glenn. It's a road that is closed until the park opens for the season. It's a good size hill that mellows out, but doesn't go flat and runs into a circle, so no footbraking. It has plenty of shade and would be a great outlaw race, but single track only because of the curve in the road. ...

Slalom in CT on Sunday
The weather looks good for this weekend and Lisa, the girls and I have a clean traffic free spot. We'll meet up about noon and skate as long as there is interest. I'll have plenty of loaner boards. Please email me for directions and cell number. It is a state park with plenty of trails and such so n...

That sounds smart Rick. We'll run out of daylight before you know it and I know all the new guys are going to really enjoy the hill. They'll want to be screaming the GS, not qualifying. Why not pull names out of a hat to qualify the elite, totally random and no bellyaching afterwards. I'll be supply...

Justin, John is right. The best time and place for a new skater to show up is at The Gathering. All levels of courses are set. You are free to ride almost anyones board (just ask first). You can even get help tweaking your own equipment. I tend to not usually speak in absolutes and imperatives, but ...

Phil, Glad to see you've moved on to Randals. I think they are a better match for this twisty board. If you get stock Randals they need a bit of tweaking. Call me when you get them. Otherwise, how is that indoor field house working out? I can have a dozen guys and a start ramp there any weekend. Let...

You know I've worked for years now in slalom skateboarding. Last year I coached the US champions in both the girls and young womens category. Do they call me Joe the coach? Nope Last year I found a great new hill for the Farm race. Do they call me Joe the hill finder? Nope. Last year I personally re...

Fluitt's a poof
Fluitt,
You were fast at the farm last year, but pussied out on the party. I don't think you should be permitted to be the overall champ and leave before sunrise.
And don't use your family as an excuse. They looked like they wanted to stay.

Corky, Please accept my suggestion that the Farm be the other main race for 2005 East. It's proximity to the major New York airports makes it easy and cheap to get there. It is possible with the low dollar it will be cheaper to get there from Europe than from the rest of the United States. Our new h...

Phil, You'll need something soft and that will take me a few days, but I can get my hands on what you want. How about the Turner gs/hybrid? What ever board we get you will be complete and ready to ride. Did you know a bunch of us will be in Rye, NH for a race on 1/8. Will you be back at school by th...
CB, Northwest DTT to manchester, NH $182 1 1/2 hours closer. This is a summer hot spot. BEAUTIFUL shorline, but no one there in winter. Plenty of hotels to go around and cheap. Once I get a number of overnighters, I'll swing a group deal somewhere. You know I've done it before. This park blows Vans ...

Re: Boys becoming men
Who's Korten? Jim Korten is a slalom savant from from the mid period 80's - early 90's?. I've only read and heard his legend, running 3 footers, running one footed and backwards. JH Gilmour, Esq. has got the full skinny (of course). He apparently had a major accident, got hooked on drugs, and has b...
