We've been running our double elim races with pen and paper. Here's a copy of the double-elimination draw I've been using: http://www.skateboardracing.org.au/forum/attachment/download?id=2144162%3AUploadedFi38%3A48938 It's pretty much as Wesley says. Modifying the Excel sheet to cope with this draw ...

Colin, about your previous problem starting the program. Did you have Excel installed on the computer. I got the same error some time ago and realized excel was not installed. I have added a check for that in 4.1 as well. Sorry for the delay in responding, but yes, the problem is now fixed. Thank y...

Here in Australia we ran a head-to-head race last weekend with these features: * double-elimination * single-run (higher qualifier chooses the course) * 0.1 sec cone penalty (old-style) * False start penalty (2x, ie, old-style) So it was a mix of the "traditional" and the new. It worked great. I'm a...

Resurrecting this old thread...Tim, I guess that hi-viz yellow/green colour is basically the colour of a tennis ball. Last weekend we ran a dual-lane race where each rider only got a single run in each round. The rider with the faster qualifying time could choose which course to to ride on. Everybod...

Great that you got it to work! Would you like to share what the issue was? I never solved the problem - I just used a different laptop. Actually, a friend has tried ExcelMate on 3 different laptops and had the same problem as me - instant crash. I was starting to think it must be a southern hemisph...

I finally have this working, but have not plugged a Trakmate in to it yet. It promises to make timing a lot easier. But I have a few user-interface questions/suggestions. Why is there both a "Left" and "Right" lane when using the single lane template? When using the double-lane template it would sim...

[2008] Conehead Cup 2008 Race 2, Sept 13

http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/2185/coneheadcup2008race2flipu7.jpg Steve Daddow gets his revenge on Jackson Shapiera. Haggy Strom sits it out with a broken clavicle. A whole bunch of slalom never-evers get hooked racing on the newbie-friendly "B" course. Under lights, by the beach. All the deta...

OK. so we're not the only ones crazy enough to have done this. There wasn't really much complaint about the conditions. Two people put down qualifying times and then declined to race in the head-to-head, but otherwise everybody was happy to race, although for many (including myself) it took a fair b...

This race was insane. Has anybody run slalom in such wet conditions before? Click this damn text to get more info, photos, and video of the race . Jackson Shapiera pipped Steve Daddow and Haggy Strom to win in the wet, and next week he's off to Europe for the World Cup downhill circuit. http://api.n...

Yes, there will be a Conehead Cup in 2008. There'll be four races overall, starting sometime in April /May. The exact dates and venues haven't been settled yet as Newton's Playground is sucking up everybody's time and attention. If you're on the Gold Coast you should definitely hook up with Steve Da...

Hi Charles! I don't think there's much racing going on in the West Coast (Perth?), but if you come to Sydney let me know and we'll have some slalom going for sure.

Last year we ran a double-elimination slalom race in Canberra, Australia. Each racer ran both courses in each round, so it was a looong day. Too long, so if the course is identical enough a single run would be better. The best thing about the double elimination was that everybody got to race against...

Sam, I don't know where to get Cortechs in Australia other than through Braden, who runs http://www.charliedontskate.com.

If you make it to Sydney and are up for a skate, PM me and we can set something up.

Cortech slalom wheels from Australia

Two sizes and two duros. More info here: http://charliedontskate.com/bb2/viewtopic.php?p=28700 I haven't ridden them, but the word is that they feel much harder than the stated duro rating, go faster than you'd expect from the stated duro rating, and yet grip as you'd expect from the stated duro rat...

Stuck axle nut, and axle unthreads from hanger

When I try to unthread one of the axle nuts off my splitfire, the entire axle unthreads from the hanger instead. I can't get the nut off - maybe if I had access to a vise I would be able to grip the axle hard enough to unthread the stuck nut, but I don't have a vise (plenty of vices though). Any ide...
