Thanks John and Claude. You two also persuaded me to go. It was loads of fun. I did much better than expected (1st place Junior GS, 2nd place Junior TS). I got to meet a ton of cool folks, get advice from Carrasco, Mitchell and others, see crazy boards/equipment, get some free schwag, and most of al...

Should I be nervous? I am just ampin myself out with the whole racing thing I guess. I am kind of like: I havent slalomed on over 3 months, yet the race is in 2 weeks. Uh oh. But I dont have any good places to practice near me, and I fear that if I fall I could injure myself (Mainly my wrist again) ...

Thanks guys for the replies, you made my decision alot easier...Both of you are right, I need to start somehow. Marty, I will definitely meet up with you and show you my setup. Hopefully everything is tweaked right and hopefully by then I will be used to the offset. Right now it is a Rt-x in front w...

Should I enter...?
The La Costa Open is coming up as most of you know and I am really considering entering. I have only slalomed for a very short period of time, but I think by entering and skating with more experienced slalomers, than it will make me better. I am only 16 so the entry fee would only be $15. The proble...

Weekly sessions?
I was skating a pool in Pala and John Pope was there (Freestyle skater who rides for Sk8kings) and he was telling me about some slalom session that usually goes down every Sunday from like 12-2. This was really before I was into slalom, so I forgot where he said it was. Do any of you know what he wa...

Yeah, my friend and I were going to set up a hybrid course with cones ranging from 6-7 feet and throwing a few offsets in there. The setup I am running right now is an Axe II with Rts/x and Manx 80a all around. I like the board because the little tail in the back helps my lock my feet in. The slope ...

Setting up a good course
I am still new to the whole slalom thing, but it is a blast. I bought a 50 pack of Solo cups to use and I usually stack two of them together to weigh them down a bit more. I have a perfect grade for slalom (at least for beginners) right by my house that can hold a course of about 30-35 cones. First ...

Just tried slalom
I just tried slalom this weekend for my first time and I am hooked. I bought my first board (Axe II w/ Rtx/s and Zig-zags) and love it. It is much harder than it looks and I have much more respect towards people that slalom. I am glad I got to try, because now I love it. Had to share my stoke with e...
