Re: Brian - Specific Problems
Brian: What are your problems specifically?? I know of a number of slightly non-published cures that might help, but it depends on the injuries. What types of therapy were you receiving?? Thanks Rob I have crepatus pretty bad, besides from chondromalasia in my knee cap. The doc pretty much told me ...

The thing is, I have already seen the doctor because the knee problem came after the femur break. I went through my physical theropy already, and its run out not because the doctor won't give it to me but because my insurance company won't let me have any more because I recovered so quickly after my...

I Can't Take It Anymore.....
Well, after a short lived retirement from skateboarding, I think I'm going to come back. The knee and leg is still shot to hell, but I am going to use my winter to do some training and fix my knee up good. Any words of encouragement or advice??

1) When did you first start skateboarding? Did you teach yourself how to skate or did you learn from a friend or other source? I taught myself pretty much everything, with some pointers here and there especially in slalom. 2) What is your first skate-related memory? Riding a plastic board about 6 in...

As much as it pains me to say it.....I have to retire from slalom and from skateboarding almost completely. The knees just can't take the abuse anymore. I still plan to be active in the slalom scene, and still orginize a few races here and there. Big thanks to Jack Smith, UR13, Noah, Brian P, and ev...

I find having big feet to be a disadvantage in slalom. Try to find a board that you can fit your feet on, yet be able to push through cones. I found I had to majorly alter my regular stance to work for slalom, I have size 12-13 feet, and sometimes I find i have to ride on my toes with both of my hee...

John, I think the new diciplines of Slalom Cross and Park Slalom will be the way which we introduce the concept of slalom to new skaters. Hackett did a great job with his Death Race, and I think more events like this will definately attract the youngins as well as the bigger sponsors because of its ...

Chris, I'm already working something out for next year, a big *really* big event in North NJ. I still have to work some more stuff out with the town to get the permits, but I plan on having something large scale. Also, there is a few decent hills at my school that I'm working on closing to get a cou...

I don't know how well set they are, but I've set or attempted to set a few GS courses. I don't feel real comfortable with long turns on a big hill, I'm not as stable, but I'll skate the same hill pumping like a mad man through 6.5 cones and be very stable. I'm really not looking to push the limits o...

Rick, I love tight slalom, I think its all about pushing the limits of how quick and tight a skateboard can turn. When I ride my regular slalom board, its 5.5 ft to 6.5 ft all the time. I think skating tight on a longboard is testing the boundries even more. I personally don't like giant slalom, or ...
