Breckenridge in June
I'm gonna be in Breckenridge June 2 thru June 9. I know you guys have some krazy-azz big hills out there, so I'm bringing a couple boards. I think my daughter will bring her AXE too. Any advice on a good place to set out the cones? Anyone interested in being a guide for an afternoon? I should mentio...

yeah ... the bike path crosses the road right near the spot. but i don't know the name of the road. i'm sure i can zero in on it from google though. but if you have a helicopter, that would be really cool. my back yard is big enough to land and pick me up, and there's a big open park right by the pr...

New practice spot!
I found a new practice spot last night. The town I live in has great bike paths that nobody ever rides on. Last night I set out the cones at a spot about a 10 minute bike ride from my house. It's a slight downhill, followed by a slight uphill. It was an equal number of cones going down the one side ...

I have taken my 46" board with me on a couple trips over the past year. I use a snowboard bag. I also put all my clothes and stuff in the same bag, just like a big suitcase. I think I'm gonna stop though because I heard a news story a couple weeks ago about airlines losing 14,000 pieces of luggage P...

Haven't heard. Dane County just officially opened their trails this weekend because we finally got some snow. There were two other incidents this past weekend where ice fishing guys broke through the ice on their 4-wheelers. They're OK though. We went over to Doreen's sister's house yesterday to cat...

MODEL WISCONSION CITIZEN!
This past weekend a Wisconsin man was visiting friends in Minneapolis. He was staying on the 17th floor of a hotel there. He had been drinking. He ran down the hall and threw himself against the glass window tto see if it was strong enough to stop him. It wasn't. Unbelievably, he survided the fall w...

A timing system I don't know if Santa can do this or not - a smooth, wide, steep, long hill of my very own that faces south so it's always in the sunshine. No cars allowed ever. And a chair lift like they have at ski resorts for taking me back to the top. Oh yeah ... and also world peace and an end ...

Back to the Kennedy thing - I was only 3 at the time. I remember my parents and some other adults sitting at the table talking about it. OH YEAH!!!! I was wondering if people would want to do a downhill style race. Sun Prairie has the hills for it. Sometimes it seems like there isn't too much cross-over between the disiplines; downhillers downhill and slalomers slalom. Personally, I enjoy speed in all it's forms. For the Sun Prarie r...

Madison area: I used to like WORT - Wisconsin's Dairy Air. But it's run by mostly college kids and they are just a little too political in all their self-agrandizing pontificating between the music for me. WMMM (105.5FM) in Madison started out like XRT used to be (I grew up in Chicago and was a dedi...

I was out slaloming last Saturday and I got to thinking. As you twist and wiggle your way through the cones at the rate of 3.5 to 4 cones per second, you are getting a great core workout – the abs, hips, glutes, & shoulders. Strengthening the core muscles; isn’t that what Pilates is all about? The h...

Yes - the Sun Prairie event is on for 2007. 2006 being the first year the powers that be were reluctant to do any more than just a little flatland tight slalom. It was a good first year and we had a lot of positive feedback. There are some really killer hills in the area, just a few blocks from wher...

If you have a wide enough road, it would be fun to set up 3 or 4 courses side-by-side. If you just have 2 courses, I always thought it would be fun to set them so they cross in the middle. In other words you start out on the right course and finish on the left course ... and of course the other race...

Cool. Excellent. The contest rules say knee and elbow pads and a helmet. Obviously they should bring a skarteboard, but even that can be provided.
