When I first announced The 5th Gathering: It's All About Slalom, I proposed that this year would see an increase in organization and scheduling, since that time, I haven't had any time to do any scheduling. I know I said I would, but I simply have not had any time. I know I am planning to focus on j...

Good Advice

Mike, Watching and learning from Simon Levene is always good advice. The first time I ever saw him skate (on video in the 80's), it instantly modified my slalom technique (for the better) and I'd already been skating slalom for nearly 20 years at that point. However, listening to and learning from S...

Wesley, Your very astute observations lead me to also wonder whether the average age of the racers has gotten younger, and whether younger skaters rebound from "heavy" falls faster than us old folk.

On another point, witness the incredibly efficient and effective arm action of Ur13. From the Gilmour school, but even more well timed and fluid.

Steve, It's not that anybody's dissing you, it's just that there are no "standard" cone spacings. To many of us, standardizing course set-ups is almost an antithesis to what is best about the sport. Routine Maintenance

Not to worry. Some of the utilities (sewer or water) running to the restroom facility pass under the road down there. They seem to have some need to open that little trench across the road every couple of years, and they've always done an excellent job of returning it to "not an issue" status.
