St. Louis winter session, January 2006
Click the link below for a video of a couple of runs from an unseasonably warm day for winter in the Midwestern United States. Jeff Goad set a snakey course down "Goad's Grove" in Tower Grove Park. Cone spacing was moderate, I'd say from 6.5 to 8 feet, but the curves made it tricky to go fast. Every...

Man oh man. If you can, have it on the same hill as last year. It's not a screamer for GS like La Costa, Breckenridge or Turri Rd., but for hybrid or TS I think it's absolutely world class. Great slope, great low-key surroundings--and in the words of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons: Best. Surface. ...

Bernhard, the green one looks cool, but the silver one looks like it might be a bit slippery. ;-) Congratulations on taking a chance, even if it doesn't work out. Just look at it this way: either you will succeed at making a very good slalom wheel, or you will have the most awesome paperweight ever.

Adam, I used to own such an offset truck. I found that Home Depot and Lowe's both carried the coarser-threaded locknuts they required. I think they were 1/4"-20, i.e. 1/4" hole diameter, 20 threads per inch. They sold them in little plastic bags, two nuts per bag, for about 99 cents. They were kept ...

Most seem to ride a front truck that's loose to REALLY loose. I've stepped on boards ridden by Noah Heinle, Jason Mitchell, Gary Flu...

OK, let's talk bearings. Specifically, let's talk cleaning bearings. Brian, there's some truth to both sides of the argument. Your board is not ideal for slalom as it's currently set up, but it could work OK with the right equipment. Whether you decide to upgrade some parts or to get an all-new deck may depend on how much you want to spend. If cost is not a big deal,...
