Donald, your resignation is not accepted. I expect you to be back at your job pissing people off first thing Monday morning. Achtung!
Seriously, though, WTF? Or rather, in honor of your e-mail address...WDF?

I see a lot of frustration in these posts--people who seem to feel that nothing is being done to move slalom, or maybe just the ISSA, forward. I also see a lot of energy, from the same people--offering their opinion and their best suggestions for how they'd like to see the organization improved. I w...

Congratulations, Steve! And good pick-up, Donald. Steve is a solid guy who really enjoys skating. He was good at the start of the season and just got better all year. Good luck with getting him off those Seismics on his park board, though. :-) http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c95/harmsjb/StevePFSca...

Mr Harms, new day, fresh ideas! I'm loving your idea of calling the nut feature 'an English Channel'. Id like to use that if I may. And if and when someone copies it we can all refer to it as an English Channel. Cool! Michael, thank you for asking, and of course you may use that name. Glad you like...

The Bennett is a great front truck, especially if you wedge it about 7 to 10 degrees (skinny end of wedge toward front of board). So your front is fine. For the rear, though, you want a slower-turning truck, so it just kind of follows the front along. The RT-X turns more quickly than the RT-S, so th...

Seb, you can take a bus from Portland to Hood River (and back!) for about 20 dollars. (You also have to take a metro train from the airport to a bus transfer station, but that's only about five bucks or less.) Check out the bus company's website at www.greyhound.com . Or send me a PM and I can tell ...

Just like some guys have suggested a Rad front in the back for TS. This is off topic, but who the hell suggested that? Perhaps its just me being narrow minded... I didn't suggest it, but I actually tried it, in 2005, for TS. The rear Rads at the time all had the swing-arms, and cut-down Rad rears w...

I would agree with everything Marty, Rick and Cfav said. I especially like Marty's observation: You're basically doing quite well already. Your basic form/technique is not bad at all, especially for someone who (as far as I know) hasn't been doing slalom for all that long yet. As far as bending your...

should i try adding a little more wedge to the front since it wont hold a pump? Won't hold a pump with the Bennett up front or with the RT-X up front? Most people seem to agree that an RT-X needs more wedge to come alive--maybe 12 degrees or so. A Bennett shouldn't need quite as much, although you ...

Good advice from both Lenny and Rick, IMO. From your description of wedging, dewedging, etc., sounds like you're on the right track with what you're riding. In my experience, the RT-X doesn't really come alive as a front truck until you wedge it at least 10 to 12 degrees. The Bennett doesn't need as...

Front truck: Get a Bennett 4.3 and wedge it about 7 degrees (skinny end toward the front of the deck). Use soft bushings (for example, white Khiro barrels on top and bottom or white top/orange bottom) and run it considerably looser than your rear truck. That sucker WILL turn and should work for bot...

I think there were a couple of cones in that run--three for Claude, one for me? That was actually the first run of two. In the second run I had the "inside lane," which seemed to run a bit faster because it was on the inside of a curve. I think Claude was faster than I was at the end, but I had a fa...

Trackmate does it have beeps?
Can the 2003-vintage Trackmate timer do a "beep" start cadence of any kind? Or does it only record the times? It's a black box with two red buttons on the top and one sliding black On/Off switch on the side, and it has two "phone jack"-style connections. I'm taking this timer to the Chicago race thi...
