two things:

Reflex urethane doesn't come in 75a. I think the softest reflex is 77a (pink).

I have a number of bushings I've made from 75a regular Abec11 urethane. The stuff is the s###. It's really good, as good or better than Stimulator urethane.

I would recommend not trying to shorten the board and just getting used to riding it with a big nose. It's doubtful you could recreate the structural integrity of the glass box to be anywhere near as strong as the way it was originally built. Thanks Wes. I'm probably going to borrow some of the construction from Byrd's design. I drew Byrd's design, then raised the platform 12" and enlarged the ramp x 1.33333 to make it fit. The resulting ramp length was 8'-8", so still about 2' shorter than the one I drew. Makes me wonder if mine is too ...

One of my favorite front trucks for GS is the Midtrack, which is has essentially the same geometry as the Dart and RTS. Mine has a modded axle and is spaced out to 105mm. I think the "bent pivot" geometry can make for a good GS front end.

I agree with Wes on the trucks. Those are pretty much the only inexpensive trucks out there. Get them.

I disagree on the wheels. Avalons are not beginner wheels. Get ZigZags, HotSpots or Manx. They do everything Avalons do but without the fussiness.

It will be hard to find someone who will let one of those go, partly due to the (increasing) rarity, partly due to Indy loyalty. If you must have one, I recommend finding an Indy 101 and having a machinist offset it for you. It's not hard to do. Make sure your machinist uses good quality steel. FWIW...
