I think its best left up to the race director(s) prior to the race based upon previous experimentation. That's the way things are because that's the way it's been. The value for course penalties can be standardized. What's more is it eliminates any opportunity for complaint. If a course is a given ...

I think I have seen the course director and other Pro's gather around and discuss a carnage number based on what they think is doable by the other pro's in attendance. Taken in account steepness/tightness etc. With many races already having run several times on the same streets/park's highways etc. ...

I feel it would be good to have separate rules for the Amateur/Open classes from the Pros with respect to DQ penalties.. Since the Ams/Open racers are there for recreation and most of them need all of the practice they can get, they should get a 1.5 penalty for a DQ. It's important for them to get ...

Pat, I understand making it more challenging or raising the bar for the pro's. In many races though, 3/4 of the racer's are not pro's. Most of the money then is coming from the open riders who dont make the course, or make it but badly. You take out all/most chances for the open/novice to finish the...

5.1 START OF RUN 5.4 DISQUALIFICATIONS I don't think there should be a fixed rule to say that more than 10 cones is DQ. If you have a DQ time of 1 second on a 0,1 sec conepenalty course then it would be true. But if you have a 10% of total time DQ or whatever then it may be different. And by all me...

My thought is if you limit yourselves to a certain brand/function i.e Trackmate and they go out of business..what will be accepted next? I only suggest that the rules say/imply a start stop electronic timing device and software that accomplishes what is already used currently. (must have a capture o...

Re: No ramp-start races.

In 4.3: Its said that we use a start ramp, there are races that a start ramp (several feet off the ground) are not used. Will the rules reflect starting on the ground?[/i][/b] The rules should not reflect starting on the ground. If a race organizer wished to start a race on the ground, then this de...

There may be other timing systems in the future, will the rules accept other and future timing applications?[/i][/b]

Marathon (running) Timers

Has anyone bothered to investigate running timers such as the ones they use in marathons. Each runner has a "chip" or RFID. Once the runner crosses the line the runner's info is wired (hard or wired) to a receiver. The info is instant. Numbers are used not names because of space or lack there of on ...

Here's my take on criddling: In a perfect world races would employ true course proctors to judge and administer the rules specific to cones, staying on course, acceptable cone hits, what is a DQ, etc. As it is most races if not all utlilize volunteers to cone marshall, most of whom are seeing there...

I have a silly question: You want to sell more trucks in the U.S Market, Yes? Crail from Brazil and the country as a whole is metric, yes? Force trucks from Austrailia and they too are a metric country. My last two examples are trucks that have U.S standard bolting and they are doing fairly well he...

Oh where oh where is my G.O.G board at?
Oh where oh where can it be?
With its short smooth lines
To reduce those slalom times

Oh where oh where can it be?
