Pat, I like that as a version. But how do you get your initial placement. 2 Qualification runs? If so being 50 racers with 5 runs each will give a total of 125 races (250 runs/2 lanes). Hmm. Lot's of races. Lot's of fun. But taking some time. Doubled amount of races compared to a 2Qual 16bracket ver...

Head to head racing can be fun but also a waste of time. With the current system there are many heats that are of no interest for the audience and the skaters themselves. When the skill difference is too big between the racers it becomes more of a Sunday walk than a race. Is there no way we could ma...

Here is what the ISSA rules says... 21. CONES The cones used for slalom should have a base diameter of approximately 140 mm, approximately 250 mm high and be made of plastic. If the wind is strong enough to move the cones, two cones could be placed on top of each other, however a hit and displaced p...

Slalom Rules Questions
After the Swiss competition I had a rerun because of a cone misplacement. Now, several days after I have a question about this. It was a duel during the head to head. When we saw that the cone was wrong we did a rerun both of us. So now I'm wondering how to handle such a situation in the future. The...

I propose for everyone wanting to go there to get tickets from Ryan air to Frankfurt. It's only SEK 199-299. In Frankfurt we rent a car. Or a van if we are more than 4. From Frankfurt to Köln is only a 2 hour drive.

Major impression from the race was... - Too hot! As a Swede I like sunny and warm weather but this was too much for me. - Again lot's of Am racers. With all these young racers it looks promising for the European slalom future. - A really tight special slalom for the Pro's. A tuff course that unfortu...

So who's coming to Köln?
What I understand Jani will be there. Big chance that I will come along too. It will be a German national championship but open also for other nationalities.

Rumours say that Luca is convinced that one can do much better than his record. He was too tired after 70 cones and after a full day of skating he couldn't do his best. Hold on to your hats! He thinks he can shave off another 1-2 seconds of that old record! So if someone wants to have a go at that w...

As I see it there are two main ways of doing slalom: The cruizing way and the racing way. The main difference between the two is that when doing it the cruizing way you seek the good feeling, joy and nice lines. When doing it the racing way you seek efficiancy, speed and maximum force. We all probab...

Start with measuring up 7 of your own feet between the cones. Have a go. If it seems long between the cones put them tighter. If it seems tight try a...
