[2003] Greuningen 21-22 Juni, Svenskt deltagande

ISSA did something like this in issue 18. While not intended as trading cards they were "cards" of the top European and US racers racing in a major race in 93 (Pyrenean Adventure Games?). Chris, I remember Jani and me doing this for the "Olympic Adventure Games" in the pyrenees. It was a big succes...

John, this year we will not be very strict on what will be considered ISSA competitions or not. If it's big enough and gather enough of people from different countries it will get a high status. For Greuningen this is not a problem. If you are thinking about rules see the ISSA rules as general guide...

Very good news about splitting skaters into two different course setttings (Pro and Am) for Tight slalom. Is this also done for Giant slalom? For giant slalom it is generally not as critical since it's easier to control speed. But that doesn't mean you can't have 2 different result lists afterwards....

Maybe we should start protecting our shoulders and hips as well. Seeing Simon Levene slamming his shoulder in Paris and laying on the ground for 10 minutes was not a pretty sight. Trocadero in Paris is a skate mecca. We should always at least once a day get down on our knees turning our heads in the direction of the eiffeltower and remember all the skate history that has past by there. Tight slalom may be fun but you you really need a proper setup for it. If not it's depressing. I rode JG's and Vlad's tight courses at Trocadero (Paris) before this weekend and it was no fun with my setup. My board was set up to get speed only. That gave me way to much speed in their course. When doing bank slalom we are used to use whatever banks we come over. Happy enough finding some banks at all. But what would be the perfect bank transition for slalom if we could choose?
