Dovercourt Races

Post by Rick Floyd » Tue Jul 03, 2007 6:50 pm

Thanks again to everybody who made last weekend such a great time - organizers, event staff, racers, the city of Ottawa and most of all Claude and Mary Beth...you guys seem to have unlimited positive energy! When I got back into slalom racing, I knew the racing would be fun, but the people are even better! Roll and Rock! :-)

Oh Canada

You are right Rick, the skaters were way cool to hang out with. Also, Claude and MB put on a great race.. I had a beer in my hand within 5 minutes of arriving at the skatepark besides a great welcome from Civ. The Canadians (I say it that way for Civ) made us Americans feel very welcome. Alot of characters kept us laughing all weekend. Great talent as well in Canada. Always sucks, oops, Always nice to see so many new racers that can kick your ass. I hope to see alot of Canadiens at the Buckeye and the Worlds.

Big thanks to all (especially Mary Beth and coach Claude) from the other "rookie"; can't imagine a better way to break the seal. It was my first race, and everyone was great and treated me like family (well my family - smiles and encouragement while they kick your ass ;-)). Fewer cones flying in Ohio (maybe). Thanks again!

Civ's Video!

Post by Eric Brammer » Fri Jul 27, 2007 6:57 am

Man, that's scary to watch! You two look REALLY similar in most every move..

I gotta get Schwipp's knees to bend just a tidbit more, and, gotta get him to quit hitting cones! ;-)

Civ, thanks a whole bunch for that video! It's rare I get to really compare where he's at with other world Class racers, let alone someone else who's Goofy-foot. :-D

Well, I've got my work cut out for me.
