This is the 9th year we partner with the Dovercourt Recreation Centre to bring this event to Ottawa. Last year we hosted the World Championships and the Canadian Nationals. This year we are back with the Canadian National Championships once again.
Competitors form Canada & the U. S. will be attending and competing for world ranking points within the ISSA (International Slalom Skateboarding Association) and one of 4 Canadian tittles up for grabs.
The event is held over two days and will feature 3 separate slalom events. The Tight Slalom, Hybrid Slalom and the Giant/Gybrid Slalom.
July 30 is on Byron at ( ) & July 1 is on Dovercourt at Denbury.
We will be holding a beginners race on June 30th practice to start at 9:00 AM. After the beginner race we will start the regular practice session and qualify racers in an A,B,C format pitting age groups and genders against each other. All of the events will be run in this fashion. Should we have enough competitors to justify separate categories (men's, women's and juniors) we will not run a full A,B,C. This will be determined after registration is complete.
Final placings help determine the National Champions in the four following Divisions. Men's, Women's, Junior 17 & under & Kids 12 & under. All National Champions will be attending to try to repeat their victories.
Our accommodation partner is again Algonquin College Residence. Rooms have been blocked for the group from June 29th to July 2. This year is an incredible deal so book early. Stay two nights ($84.95) and get the 3rd for free. (Waiting for final price and detail confirmation). Your read that right. Continental breakfast as usual and the college has and is undergoing some upgrading for you enjoy yourself and make your stay even more pleasant.
Registration will be up on NCDSA.com soon and advanced payments will be greatly appreciated. You will save money with an early payment.
FullBag Skateboards has again stepped up to provide their excellent timing system.
Anyone interested in sponsoring our event please contact us. We are hoping to raise a larger cash purse for our National Champions this year in order to help them represent us at the World Championships or U.S. Nationals this year.
More information will be added regularly so keep checking in!
