[PVD] why adjustable wheelbase?

Post by Peter Verdone » Thu Nov 28, 2002 5:24 pm

Modern skateboard racing has been getting far more technical than in past years. Very expensive foam core, composite, bamboo, and fiberglass decks with very specific flex patterns and shapes do not allow you to drill new mounting position every time you want to try new wheel base dimensions. Also, only a fool would try this during a race.

The Ground Effect Racing Truck allows two different ways of changing wheelbase within the truck system.

1. The base plate has been drilled so that the truck can be mounted to the deck in 3 different places, each 7/16” apart. This ability is for both old school and new school drilling patterns.

2. A track on the base plate allows you to mount the adjustment plates onto the base plate over a range of 2.125” in increments of 5/16”

These two features offer a total of 3” of axle position adjustment per truck for just one drilling pattern in the deck.
