DC Outaw Series Race 1 Results - October 3rd

Post by Brian Parsons » Mon Oct 04, 2004 5:26 pm

A dedicated crew of DC skaters showed up for the 1st Outlaw event of the Fall/Winter series. Rapidly improving new slalom racers Brian and Andrew made it out to Sundays event. Both are much faster than their placing among this group. These guys are middle of the pack standouts now, they will be challenging longtime racers very soon.

Ohm took me out in the round of four and Eric upset Vlad in what was a sliver of good karma to make up for all of Eric’s previous bad karma loses.

Carving bowls at Landsdown on Saturday and slalom racing on Sunday. I must be dreaming.

1. Mike Ohm – 17.813
2. Eric Wallgren – 18.284
3. Vlad – 16.011
4. Brian Parsons – 16.903
5. Dan Mitchell – 17.861
6. WesE – 18.284
7. Rene Hayden – 19.333
8. Brian Gilbert – 21.594
9. Andrew Wahl – 22.591

We ran the same course as the Friday night jam session before the Gathering minus about the last four cones. Vlad was killing it.

Vlad – 14.789
Brian Parsons – 16.444
WesE – 16.831
Dan Mitchell – 17.563
Eric Wallgren – 18.268
Rene Hayden – 20.089

I am looking forward to West Virginia. A rare appearance will be made by that elusive DC outlaw LBK.

Brian, can you explain how you applied the bracket in this race? I could not follow it. Did Eric and I really have the exact same qual time (down to the thousanth), and if so, how did you decide who raced against the faster seed during the round of eight?

Good question Wes. I dont have the sheets with me now but I will double check. I had Eric qualifying 5th and you qualifying 6th. So you raced Mike who was 3rd and Eric raced PADan who was 4th.

I am sure that was qualifying order is correct I must have just typed the time wrong above.

I will verify.

OK, I'm stumped. I've looked all over and can't find it.

Would someone who knows the proposed DC Winter Outlaw Series schedule please start a new topic entitled 2004-'05 WINTER OUTLAW RACES and post Brian's proposed schedule?

I'm honestly beginning to believe Brian pulled that post he made with a schedule of races through December. I can't find it in any forum.

Wes,
The proposed winter schedule was on page 2 of the "Summer Outlaw Series" thread... go figure.

(per your request) I've re-posted it here in the 2004 WINTER OUTLAW RACES thread. I dropped the '05 cuz there were only 04 dates...

Q

can someone make it a sticky thread? (one that stays at the top???)
