I had a thought…after getting like much faster than I used to be…I had a thought…how about forgetting about brand loyalty and all that pussified niceness, supporting this nice dick over that mean dick…forgetting all that…and…and just using the fastest, bestest stuff on the slalom market…wouldn’t be farer that way to all the mean and nice dicks that would get the message and make their stuff better or just go away…I think THAT would make them all nice, not some friendship ties.

I pity you…if you use the same hand to masturbate as you do to click on this forum so often, I pity you…but, hey, keep clickin’…it's still better then skating 3m TS in the rain :D

Great day skating Fountianhead. Ohm and Boswell cleared the entire hill so it gave us a little more space for some bigger offsets and more cones in the upper part of the hill.

Beleive it or not but both Ohm and I were wanting more speed. I had to take a couple of runs on my downhill board. Its not quite as fast top speed as hobby park but I think it is a much harder hill to skate. Probably twice as long a ride. A little but of navagation is required as the hill turns right in a big sweeper near the end. Really fun.

Going to try to hit it again in the next couple of weekends.

Aaron,

Here's what going on for the next couple of months:

Feb. 18: Trade Street Outlaw, Athens, Ga.
Mar. 25: The Down-Here Slalom Retreat, Hobby Park, Winston Salem, NC
(The Retreat is on the Contest Calendar on NCDSA and the Trade Street race will be this week.)

Either Mar 4 or March 11: Backwoods Blast Outlaw Race, Fountainhead, Va.

(I'm voting for March 11. The final date depends on what's convenient to everyone way Down South.)

Directions, sort of. Take 95S to the 123 Occoquan Exit. Follow 123 about 3 miles to Hampton Road. Turn left on Hampton Road and go another maybe 2 miles and look for the Fountain Regional Park sign and turn left into the park. Park at the bottom of the hill, carry your gear over the gate and keep walking until you see water.

Calm down Vlad. Is it really that important?
...and do you really think it happened and that it was intentional?

I haven't really been following this topic but every now and then I come here to see what's up, if there are any fun photos or so. I seem to recall that two weeks ago when I came here I saw plenty of empty posting that had been edited. Have a whole series of empty posts is pretty useless and I think I deleted one or two, but stopped worrying about the reason for such empty posts and moved on to somewhere else.

If there is a post that a moderator finds reasonable to delete we have an old rule that NO POSTS should be deleted. Instead Adam and I agreed to move such posts to the Thrash Can forum (only visible to admins). Only rarely do posts get moved there. If it was a misunderstanding or if there is a long debate about that post, we can bring it out again.

...but if doesn't prevent a moderator to simply edit your post. That's part of the rules here. Of course it shouldn't be misused, but for me it is reasonable to edit out the worst part of a post in a fighting situation. Good we don't have so many of those! In reality I think very few moderators really moderate the forums that hard. I would suspect you post(s) was only accidentally edited/deleted. I don't really think it was intentional by anyone.

Now back to slalom related stuff, or?

PS. Or did I misunderstand this whole argument?

I am very concerned here. Brian, have you hung up your slalom quiver in the pursuit to go fast?

Anthony, I plan to check out Fountainhead and hopefully plan an Outlaw race. You can run a downhill on the same day!

Vlad, sorry you missed saturday's race in VT. You would have liked the course. Not tight but somewhat tech.

This is getting way off topic from the DC Sessions topic, but I'll ask here because if I move it to Site Administration it's just ignored and then eight months from now someone will claim the issue was ignored by the site administrators.
Vlad Popov wrote:Phantom boards and trucks no one uses are not on the priority delete/move/edit list.
Which ones, Vlad? Name them. Every manufacturer I see listed on the forum page is selling product and providing support to racers. Just because you don't know anyone who's buying a FibreFlex or a Wefunk doesn't mean they aren't selling. Which board is no one using? What truck is no one buying? Tell me a wheel that has a forum that no one rides? Tell me which one of the products on this website can't be bought tomorrow?

More importantly, tell me what slalom-related product can be bought tomorrow from the manufacturer who's NOT got a forum?

P.S. I guess I do need to find out if Ron wants one for Fatboy. Seems Team Slacker has sort of migrated to his stable :-)

Downhill session

Post by Brian Parsons » Sat Oct 08, 2005 4:17 am

Hey Anthony, let me know when you guys ride Rock creek again. I wanted to come an skate the last time.

I actually set up a drop through downhill board so I am equiped with board just not safety equipment.

Riding downhill with the DHB at Hobby park got me stoked on the straight line stuff. But I just dont have the nerve yet.

I never post drunk. It is so that I don't have any regrets the morning after...

I can also recreate a lot of stuff from memory. Like Rick's last post about his '06 race that he deleted soon after posting it in this thread...questioning my sanity and soberness is useless.

So, what you're about to read is written from Washington, DC 15 minutes after my workshift is over.

There were two downloads of the video to which I posted a link here and ONLY here before the Vermont race on September 24, 2005. I knew TS might not happen in VT and made our last get-together with Ohm a "prepare-for-VT-TS" session; sort of a joke...nothing serious.

I tried editing and deleting options on the first page of this topic last night and it worked well, but I couldn't erase my posts. They are all date and time stamped.

Before I left for VT, my post with a link to the video was not the last one (September 24, 2005). Which means that only someone with a moderator's rights could have done it. The only other way to do it is to obtain a moderator's rights (sign in as one) with or without a moderator's concent/knowlege. And use it. This way, any moderator could say "I didn't do it" and it would be true.

I have no comments on the VT race, and don't want to participate in any related discussions.

But I can't allow anyone to erase my posts.

I'm deeply disappointed with the way this forum is run. It is as though I'm rereading the 1984. Phantom boards and trucks no one uses are not on the priority delete/move/edit list. It's clear that someone's interests play a huge role in what gets moved where and when.
This is not the idea of a community forum. You might as well spread your legs and allow advertisement here with the same ease you spread the cone distances and "move" posts/forums.

PS. Jeff&…. please use my e-mail address for further correspondence.

PSSt. I have to post a picture in the Italian forum per Mr. Ferrero's 2-day old request and that's about it.

Well, Vlad, here's the deal - there are seven people who could have deleted your post:

Me
Jani
Glenn S
Joe Iacavelli
Brian Parsons
Adam Trahan
AND You.

Now, I didn't do it. I doubt Jani did it because he's five hours ahead of us and I doubt he got up at 3 o'clock in the morning just to see what Vlad was posting. Glenn is three hours behind us and he might have done it, but again I doubt he takes that much interest in the DC forum. Adam T? Puh-leeze. He's probably forgotten his sign-in password. What about Joe I? Did you do anything untowards to piss him off so he took his Administrator Sword in hand and would slash your prose?

Parsons? Personally, I can't imagine Brian taking the initiative to really care one way or the other what you type unless you said something nasty about his lineage.

That leaves you. Did you hit the wrong button? Forget to "submit" after "preview"-ing? The list of imaginable scenarios is lengthy. And let's not forget there is a post still in the forum that's bold as brass accusing everyone who administrates this site as "fukkers." So if that's still around, why would some other bit of contrivance you decided to upload to cyberspace be unacceptable?

Is paranoia a well-know side affect of too much Stoli?

Since there is no more PVD truck company and odds are slim to none of there ever again being a PVD truck, all topics were moved to the GENERAL SKATEBOARD TRUCK DISCUSSION. Nothing was deleted. No manufacturer is guaranteed a forum ad infinitum but no topic is deleted.
