Walker Lane at 12 noon.

Neil, Walker lane is the road that the INOVA Springfield Emergengy room is on. It connects Beulah and FFX County Parkway. You should enter on the Beulah Road side. We skate in the Calibre building parking lot. It's the first entrance on the right when you enter from Beulah.

Sorry i didnt make it guys. I had a really long weekend where I went to bed at 5 both nights in a row and moved so much equipment and played so much yesterday between my band and my school jazz band so I just slept in till 130 and then skated a little around my neighborhood. I hope you guys had fun and I'll make it out to another session.

Looks like an informal DHB Jam is shaping up for Hobby Hill on 4/21. I'm pretty sure I'm making the trek, if any of the DCOL can make it down, the more the merrier.

Anyone looking to session this weekend? Sunday looks like the better weather day. Saturday will work too.

Walker is still wet in spots but with the warm weather coming it should dry up.

Maybe someone near the P&R can check out it's rideability.

Great session at Fountianhead yesterday.

The big scary hills are clear and will be skate ready with minimal sweeping.

And hells yeah I'm trying slalom!

Zach, bring your favorite longboard. If you decide to try slalom you will be riding one of our boards anyway.

Dillon, I hope to get at least one day this year on my snowboard. It would be great to meet with you and LBK for a session. I just got back from Austin, TX. I went to the Sizzler and we had 80+ degree weather. I think I am ready for summer!

Cool. I can be at Franconia at noon and will be. Mike, thank for the ride offer -- I will take you up!

Shall I bring any of my other boards (Loaded pintail, Gravity hypercarve, Gravity ben wei)?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks again and i'm greatly looking forward to this tomorrow!!

Seeking shelter from the wind...

Post by John Dillon » Sat Mar 03, 2007 11:40 pm

Yo Mike,
Indeed, seeking shelter from the wind is a must....going into the woods in fresh pow up to your ribs is what I did this week in Colo...to dodge the minus 30 windchills. I found some nice ravines to slalom around the trees too....sweet sensation! Hopefully, I'll skate w/you and the others soon.

1:00 works. The left side was completly dry, some damp spots on the right, with enough clear to set a course - should be dry tomorrow. Didn't check the back, it might work too. See you tomorrow.

Zach, if you take the Blue Line to the Franconia Springfield station, I can pick you up. Plan to be there around Noon. You can call my cell phone.

Looks like we will be at Fountainhead around 1pm.

Zach, I couldn't make it today but Earl is skating Fountainhead. We will definately be skating Sunday at Fountainhead. Since the wind is up, Fountainhead is in the woods and is protected. You can go on www.nvrpa.com and look under Reginal Parks for Fountainhead, it should have directions. If you have a car, we can meet and I can get you there.

Earl, sorry I missed the session today. Family stuff.

Are you skating on sunday?

Parsons?

Pretty windy today. Fountainhead could be the call seeing that it is in the woods shielded from the wind.

Drove by Walker this morning around 9:30 and I was quite wet. Lots of water coming up through cracks in the pavement. There is a chance it will dry by this afternoon but probably later than 1pm. I can check it again later and report back.

Earl, care to take a quick drive by Fountainhead and check the front hill.

Earl, I will swing by this morning to check the melt factor. How does 1pm sound today.

Parsons, we will skate with you either day. See you at 1pm Sat and Sun.

I just had a thought, there is a slight chance Fountainhead is skateable. We should check there for a Sunday session.

Zachary, Walker Lane is in Alexandria near the Springfield Metro station. There is an INOVA Emergency Room that is right off Fairfax County Parkway and that is Walker Lane. The spot we skate is at the Calibre Building parking lot right across from the Emergency Room. You should be able to Mapquest it. My phone is 703-930-1044.

Earl, how about 1:00pm? I will check out the surface and post.
