Hey, Vlad (or anyone else). You're welcome to post pictures, vids, and/or messages at http://groups.msn.com/DCSlalom.
Had one heck of a fun time Saturday. LBK is like a curse on me. I know I should whip his butt, but for some reason it seldom happens.
Geezer-x, great close runs in quals, what happened?
KMG, who da PA state champ? Don't worry, I doubt Rendell reads this.
R.ene, cool to finally meet you, keep coming back, you've got potential, dude!
WesE, let not you're heart be troubled, it's only one race. (Oh, or is that two?)
GBJ, about time you get back to racing. Now get some practice!!
Slappy, you go boy!
Henry, see you at 'Da Farm.
Vlad, feel free to leave early anytime!
Kyle (Bozi) Yarrington, see I can spell, you are not allowed to beat your dad anymore.
Brian, thanks for another great outing, you 'da man!!
That's all for now, it's late for an old fat fart like me.

I’ve heard some great race stories. Slappy pulled a Jani to win B class, WesE finished his triumph with a loss to KMG. Rene did extremely well for his first time out, Brian, Dave, Kevin (over WesE himself?!), Eric and Dan finished with good results.
I raced my new LBK 42-inch board. Cali TS would have been better for longboard slalom. But I needed to race a 42-inch board named after the man who said that “a true longboard should be at least 42 inches”. What’s amazing is that LBK PlankkR was too long for the longboard event, but perfect for the GS. Dalv is making a new 36 inch Cali TS along with a 31-inch FCR TS, both boards caring R2 extension.
I’d like to have at least a 10% advantage in longboard slalom next time. On a 15- second course 10% is 1.5 seconds. Moscow Slalom Cup is August 16. I can’t miss that.
Our dear guest from up North, Henry J stopped by. Henry was treated like a prince he is. A third run (2 for everyone else) was arranged for him in the lonboard race so that he wouldn’t end up with two DQs. Also, Henry was presented the LBK PlankkR board for successful performance and was promised another PlankkR board, a very rare Dalv Van Burren model. So rare in fact, there is only one in the world! That’s how unique the board is. Also Henry received a warm vanilla soda, courtesy PlankkR.
In general, PlankkR tried to treat Henry nicely so that he wouldn’t think that DC reception is any worst then the reception he had in the best of all possible worlds. Henry J has his own DC photo album.

Thank you Brian for the races. And the Gambles for all the help. The trophy looks just like the original from the best of all possible worlds!

Actually Tway I let Slappy borrow my lucky Pro-Design wrist guard. For some reason that thing has helped me shave my times better than any other piece of equipment I have.
Just so everyone knows. Tway left his wrist guard in my car at the Gathering. I finally put it in the mail back to him about two weeks ago. Thursday the wrist guard showed back up in my mailbox.
Sorry Tway. I have the correct postage on the package this time. You should have it back in a few days.

I remember when I first started coming down to DC, LBK was my rabbit...as was GBJ. For a while there GBJ, Mitch and I were ALWAYS middle of the pack and within .1secs of each other...that was a big motivator there.
WesE what happened? Used up all your luck 2 weeks ago on Noah and I?
I have 08.16 marked on my calender...I'll see you all at Da Farm before then!!!!
congrats guys!

DC OUTLAW SERIES RACE #2
Monday morning back at work, thinking about how much fun it was racing on Saturday.
Again Vlad took down the win on the longboard course. However, Not by a huge margin like he normally does. Hopefully this means that some of us are getting faster and eventually will catch the skinny Russian.
For the open slalom race I set a more GS style course. Vlad was not able to stick around so it left Dave Reiordan, Dan Mitchell and myself to battle for the top spot. When I first started racing I always tried to beat Dave. How close I was to him was how I judged my progress. Dave’s a new father and is not able to practice as much as he used to so I was able to stay about 1 cone ahead of him in the finals. With Chris, Noah, Mike and Vlad not there I won my first Outlaw race since our very first winter series.
Again thanks to Jeff Bozi for donateing some swag for the longboard race, and Kevin and Yvonne for all of their help.
Kyle Bozi smoked his Dad in both longboard and traditional slalom. Kyle is one of the most improved racers in our group, super good style.
It was also good to have Henry (Ick Boy), and Rene Hayden out racing with us. This was Rene’s first Outlaw race and he qualified with the A group. Once this guy gets some practice he will be a threat.
The small group this weekend reminded me of the early days of our series. Several original match ups: GBJ/KMG and LBK/Parsons.
The next race is scheduled for August 16th. However there will be practice sessions in DC for the next two weekends to prepare for the Super Bowl of slalom races “Da Farm”.
