Ilva is DC slalom’s only woman rider, so far, and lives in NYC. Skateboarding in general doesn’t have many female participants, unfortunately. Check the topic for All Girl Longboard Session (but don’t pay any attention to posts by Slappy). Many of the girls there were just then trying skateboarding for the first time. Not surprisingly, the ones that said they snowboarded, took to skateboarding the best.

I was getting a ride to the subway from my friend, and she posed a very good question:

Where are the women of slalom for D.C.?
