Oh, I feel stupid now.
That ditch still rules but did seem a little small for a bank slalom race.

I went to the ditch today to look at how it was doing. It was pretty clean and dry with some little algae spots at the end in the middle. I'm thinking if Tony is free that we could clear it off over the weekend...maybe

2 things:
no its not that ditch. i found this one on my own
also, not a GREAT idea to give directions, even vague ones to a ditch online... i dont know how he skated much of that ditch. it is super cool, but always seems to be wet. there are some more in that area which i will show you guys though.

I dunno. Tony is the one that skated it. He said it was between Bob Evans and some other place. I'm pretty sure he skated there from his house. If it's the same ditch we're talking about here transportation for us will be no problem. We could just skate to it.

You know the Outlaw Crew has timers (wired and wireless).

I'm in and Tony will be in unless something pops up. Tony's doing marching band right now and I think it's every day except weekends. Is this the Bob Evans ditch we're talking about?

Jaime and the ECRW hosted a banked slalom at the Downer a rew years ago and I know Cabbage had recently talked about it. Contact those guys and see if you can stir it up.

oh yeah, i got a suggestion for some banked slalom....
for those of you who don't know -
Aug 28 was SUPPOSTED to be the Re-Opening of Lansdowne, its now Sept 18th i think, but it got changed cuz Surfrider was busy with the VA Beach surf comp. Karl Peck got some of the guys off the Bulldog Skates forum to come down and skate that day anyways, cuz they booked plane tickets and hotels that couldn't be changed.
so maybe we could do a banked slalom race at Downer then? if you guys are interested, speak up! i've been wanting to run cones there for so long but never had a chance to set up a course yet. i need someone with a timer and cones to please come!!!

hey seth!
i'm down. i respect your no directions rule. i don't have a car at the moment, but if i can make it to meeting spot then i hope its all good! where were you thinking of meeting? i hope other people get down on this, a few of my richmond friends may be down as well. how big and long is the ditch?
anyone into bankslalom?

i have found a secret bankslalom spot in VA. I do not think it has been skated by anyone but me and my friend jon (who some of you know). it is GREAT for bankslalom. im thinking we set up a race there. 15 people max. we need a timer. id suggest at least a 34" deck w/a kicktail. right now i use a 36" pp hosoi in it and it is awesome. id say use wheels in the mid 80s in duro and 62-67mm. if anyone is interested, please post here. we would have to set a TENTATIVE date because if it rains 5 days or less before the event, there is a possibility that it will have water in it. I WILL NOT GIVE DIRECTIONS TO THIS DITCH. if we do this, we will meet somewhere and then take the minimum number of cars we can. i think this could be really fun. the ditch is not very hard, so you dont need to be a pro to come. and you nova boys that cant drive yet, for you i will give an exception to the no directions rule so one of your dads can bing you there to meet us (plus maybe one of you can check it out for water the day before). i owe you a ditch anyways...
