Vlad, good to know you are ripping in France.

Good luck from rainy DC. I expect nothing less than a podium sweep from the US guys.

John Dillin and WesE are camped out in Mollicatown riding the Dublin skatepark on their way to St. Louis.

John all I can say is maybe you should lower your standards a bit. French girls need love to.

JG, just do what my father always did when he was in a foreign port: pin a $20 bill to your shirt. Then EVERYBODY loves you!

Friday Night at Walker if it dries up. Otherwise we need to find a weekend session spot for a pre Breckenridge tune up.

Sorry Mike I also missed your message. What about Friday night at Walker. They hopefully get in a Saturday session at RFK or the P&R.

Vlad, weather has killed our sessions this winter and spring. The fun is not over. We just need some dry weekends.

I think 8:30 or 9pm. Hopefully the bottom will be dry from the runoff. I will check it tomorrow afternoon for water.

Oh yeah Vlad, The slalom scene here is still in tact. You are just lonely.

Anytime, Leo! Thaanks for joining John and I! I’m glad to know that all is well, and glad to know you!

JonnyD and Brian, thanks from me too!
And John, thanks especially for being a slalom racer. If not for the St.Louis race, I probably never would’ve gotten a chance to ride those great concrete parks. WhiteCastle->ENERGIZED!

Ok, finnally my story on my jorney thru half of USA.

i arrived on may 1st at DCA coming from a looong trip from ccs-iah-dca, Anthony Smallwood(1 of the 2 real DC´ers) picked me up at the airport, he showed me the "KHRT DC HQ) a very cool apartment on top of his poster gallery and in a verry amazing neighborhood, i saw the biggest vending machine of america, a crowded "strip" just a block from the apt and lots of hills.
John Dillon picked me up on friday and we drove to the P&R race, it was awsome to se everyone again, i met Vlad, Henry J, Paul Dunn!, the campbell chicks  , John Gilmour and his mysterious ways to attract hot chicks 20 years younger than him,SteveP, Mollica and i saw the "old" friends from last year, Alan sid, C nova, Hughr, Jeff bozi, Civ, Wes, and so many more to rememebr right now.
it was a fun race, i didnt race it cause i was really short on cash, but i rode it and it was amazing to see i learned a lot since the past year. Paul Dunn was so kind that he gave me 20 $ of his prize money to help my travel expenses ( adn they did!).
Saturday was TG3 time, now THAT felt soo god, be in the woodstock of slalom, the vibe everything was so great. i runned more cones that day than ever (this was bfore st louis  ) 4 different courses, longboard races, cyber slalom, pizza, people, gifts, chicks, What else can u ask for???
sunday was kind of quiet for me cause i was trying to get used to my new-to-me turner GS/hybrid that Mike Maysey gave to me so i didnt tried the red or white "ultra-tight" courses, UR!· was encouraging me (sp?) to give them a try cause he tought i could handle them.
we stayed there till the rangers kicked us out.
it was a great weekend cant wait to next year! many thanx to all who were there and made my weekend so special, Joe & nick, those are the friends i would want to meet anytime i travel, not to mention the crazyness of an almost-drunk-by-chicagoan-homemade-beer russian-american guy.

now, my big step was to move to chicago and start a new life there, alan & cnova offered me the help and i took one of my hardest decisions in my life. leave family, g/f, work, country and try to stay in the states.

as soon as i arrived to chicago, i know that was the place for me (not hills tough!!!)
everything its so spectacular and the people its really friendly and kind, and the city its just lovely. i stayed in chicago working for slidegear enterprises for those days.

next thing: st louis race.
what would u think if the most ammount of cones u seen its around 50 and then u see 4 times that ammount? (DAMN!) that was the most challenging race i ever been, even DH races, that course was so hard at first but i could manage to get 18? in the qualifying, that made my day and i am really proud of wha i did!
i met soo many persons in st louis, that i wouldnt end my post, jeff & wife, chainsaw, steven, glenn, to name a few locals from there, steve fom australia cool guy, hope u make it to VZ one day.

so, my journey to the staes was a roller coaster of emotions and decisions, at that time i decided that i need to get back to VZ to arrange some love and money issues, this is where John Dillon and WesE takes the scene again.

imaging this : 4 states, 5 skateparks, lots of miles, 1 speed ticket, lots of 99c burgers in less than 30 hours and with less than 8 hours of accumulative sleep hours,
i even slept on the sidewalk on louisville skatepark!!!

i wil start to scan the pics so u can see our journey.

the only thing we missed in that trip was the belly dancer from st louis.

i wanted to make this a short post, hope u like it

thanks agasin to everyone involved in my trip, you know who you are, and u know that i am forever thankful.

until we meet again, hopefully soon.

Hey Leo, Glad you had a good time and I hope you make it back.
You left a shirt and some photos at my place. I was going to send them (along with that Hawaiian knapkin holder you were checking out) to Alan's in Chicago, but I wanted to also send you a DCDC shirt which won't be ready for a few more weeks. Kick me your address in VZ and I'll ship everything when the t-shirts are done.

Yo Leo,

Thanks for the shirt and photos. Those shots of Venezuela are beautiful. I gotta make the next LomasXtreme. Kick me your address and I'll send down some t-shirts.

Vlad,
You wanna shirt? Kick some ass in Colorado and it's all yours. You're becoming such a rock star now, I didn't think you'd want to acknowledge your "Least Coast" roots. Ha! Good luck and if you still want the leathers, call me @ 202-607-1495

Anyone up for a longboard skate around DC along with a concert @ the Black Cat on Friday June 20th?

Some skinny little skater punks I know (Millionaire Reverends aka Poseur Bill) are opening for Beehive and the Barracudas which supposedly is a side project of Rocket From The Crypt.

We have a group of DC Downhillers going and anyone else wishing to hang, please feel free. We can skate some hills then go to the show. We'll probably end up at Cafe St. X or a friend's warehouse in Blagden Alley afterwords.

Walker Lane is in Springfield, Va right off the Springfield/Fairfax County Parkway. It's in an office park on the left. There is also a Medical Center across the street.

It is also close to the Springfield Metro for the auto challenged.

DC Outlaw Primer session/race
This Sunday @ 1 or 2pm @ Gaithersburg Park&Ride.
This is not for Outlaw points, just for a chance to slalom on dry pavement. We will decide Sunday morning if the pavement will be dry enough.

Just in case someone didn't see it on "DC Summer Outlaw #3" topic, we’re going to try for 1pm. If the pavement looks like it won’t dry for awhile, then it’s a Vans park session.

Well guys, I think I figured it out. The last time the weather was clear on the weekend was during the Gathering, about seven weeks ago.

That was my first slalom attempt and I got hooked.
I even muttered "This is more fun than downhill"!

I think I started a curse. So, I'll retire before I even get started.

Sunshine is coming your way boys, you can thank me later. ( Still want that Bozi 36", though )

Anthony, nice weather is even closer than you think. We had a nice session today at the Park&Ride, but I’m sure it was not because you were absent. JeffY even had a couple 36s out for people to fondle and ride.

Parsons, Please mail my wrist guard asap. If I am ever to at least stand a chance to be a middle of the pack kind of guy, I need the proper equipment.

Vlad, I look forward to spending some time on a PlankkR. Thanks for the hookup. Please contact me privately regarding a good competitive setup.

See y'all soon.

A friend of mine who’s not planning to skate for a season or two was recently offered a free ISSA membership, full support and a sponsorship from Mr. Jani who is supposedly not running the show.

Would someone who IS running the show care to explain why is that Mr. Jani giving a free ISSA membership away along with a sponsorship offer to someone who’s not planning to participate in any competitions any time soon?

Hey, I know this is not slalom related but I am thinking about going surfing on Sunday at Assateaque. Then if the surf blows out or goes flat hit the Waldorf park on the way back to Norva.

Surf is really unpredictible but I got skunked over the forth and I am really wanting to get some waves before the water goes cold again.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Brian, call 1-900-976-surf for the forecast. I may hit it with you! Assateague usually only breaks on bigger south swells but it might be fun in town.

I want to do Vlad’s 100-Cone Challenge Saturday. I suppose I could ride at P&R afterwards, but Sunday might be a better possibility for that.
