Download all photos to a single harddrive at the after party

Post by John Gilmour » Fri Apr 23, 2004 4:22 pm

Maria,

I don't know much about digital photography, but is there a way to easily download everyones photos onto a single harddrive?

If everyone were to bring a USB cable or whatever, I think it would be a great way for everyone to see good race shots.

I know I go home with a lot of good shots and they never make it out to the masses, but if I could download my shots at a after party I certainly would.

JG--

Sorry we haven't spoken in a while. I'll be calling soon.

Yes, you can have everyone download to a single hard drive. The only issue is that nearly every camera has it's own way of interfacing with a computer. So, I would think that the best way to ensure that the most people can download their images to single computer--no matter what brand of camera they have--is to hook up a multi-card reader to the computer to which you are downloading. Then everyone can just pop out their cards from their cameras, plug them into the card reader and then just transfer the photos from their card--which the computer recognizes as a drive--to the computer hardrive. Pull out the card from the reader, put it back in their cameras and go.

The only thing is that only one person can upload their images at one time.

Why not bring a multi card reader to the next race?

They aren't that expensive. I'll see what I can find.
