Richy Carrasco set a new World Record for Men's Open 100-cone slalom with a time of just 21.179 seconds at the ISSA sanctioned Can/Am Slalom Championships in Antrim New Hampshire on September 20, 2008. Richy set the new record making not just one but two completely clean (no cones were hit) runs in a row to the amazement of both the racers and spectators on hand and breaking the record previously set by UK's Martin Sweeney. Richy's record of 21.179 has since been broken first by Janis Kuzmins and most recently by Joe McLaren but is recognized as the current world record for the Master's (45 and over) category.
