When I was a little kid (early 60's) tandem surfing was a big deal and a lot of people were doing it. When boards got smaller in the late 60's and early 70's, tandem surfing pretty much disappeared. It seems like long skateboards are a natural for a revivial of the sport, if the ascendent partner doesn't mind the occasional fall onto asphalt.
It is at least a little bit funny. Back in the day, It seemed lke a good way to ruin a surf sesh.
In terms of slalom, I've seen Dave Hegstrom running cones with his kid on the board. Both were standing on the deck. I wonder if it would be possible for two people to work together and pump the same board?
