Tom -

I've got a big motorcycle ride on Saturday with my Dad, and my two brothers, but I think I can make it. I'm not firm on the moto plans yet... and... I still don't have a real slalom board - Mr. Roe is making one as we speak with my name on it. I'll have to ride my pintail again - it's all I've got for now. I'll update you as the week progresses. I'll know more about the ride as the week progresses and I'll let you know for sure.

Ron

Ga. Boys! Man I wish I could come down and get schooled by you slalom demi-gods! Go tear it up....this newbie has to practice practice practice practice to even get in the same hemisphere as you boys!

Start thinking about a road trip up here this summer to ride our Soap Box Derby Hill...we are going to put on a race this late fall and you boys need to ride it before the rest.

Dudes,
If three or four of you ride up together you guys could crash at my house. We just need to plan it. I have a big basement and if you guys don't mind sleeping on a couch, or on the floor, or a single bed, we can hook yall up.
I think it would be great for us to do that because it would have us get more feedback on the hill and how the set up needs to be before we roll out the race plans. Keith Hollien has already committed to me to show up and bring some of the big guns if we put on a formal race. I think we can go do it up right with a BBQ catered event (a meal included with the race entry fee and other meal tickets available for purchase from the spectators). We are working on the plans now...but anyway..getting some other riders feedback would be awesome. So far the slalomers that have ridden it have been me, Tucker, Lenny Poage, Ben Barkey, Marc Fuentes, Tway, and Gary Saenz.

Start talking to Marty and 66 and figure out some good weekends this summer that would work. I think what we would want to do is to not make it a big DHB event but bring you guys in, the locals, Tucker, and whoever else wants to drive in for some low key under the radar practice. What do you think? Marty? Any one else down?

Go down

Marion,

ROAD TRIP!!!!!

I'm all for hooking that up. I'll get with 6 and KOG to see what can be planned. Why don't you start things and pony up some dates you can do it on. Oh..... I call the single bed!!!! HA...HA....

Oh and quit the demi god crap. I've been racing again for all of 8 weeks and three of those were off to heal.

That's cool...I will check dates with mi familia and we will work it out. Gather your crew and I will email some dates to you. We will have one hell of a skate session on that hill together.

Talk to you soon.

Yo NCLB! If Keith brings his big guns, then you'll def learn how to slalom faster....move quickly to prevent being the target!

Wrong choice of words, huh? I forgot that he was the Poster Child for the NRA! Holy crap!
That's hilarious!

In all seriousness, I want to get as many experienced riders on that hill before we have a formal race to get their opinions. With that feedback we will be able to put on a big event there with Keith and the boys.....and the other hammers out there...in attendance.

We still have a long way to go to get our approval from the Parks and Recs Dept but I am working on all of the particulars.

Gentlemen (and Marty).....I'm afraid I've jumped the gun a bit. My nephew in Newnan graduates this weekend. I have to be there. A full-on family function ya know. So I won't be skating in Athens this weekend. Yeah, I know....very bad form Thompson....Y'all get sweet lady Trade St. all to yourselves.

66> That's a great idea! I'm down! Let me know as soon as it's up and I will get the DHB boys all hooked up.

I talked to my wife last night and she is working on weekend dates for a "Southern Slalom Coalition Conclave" between the Red Clay boys and the DHB's at Hobby Park. 66, Mark, Tom, you guys can crash at my house like I said. Tucker will come up. Barkey and Fuentes will probably come down....I want to get this small group together on that hill so we can figure out what to do with the race. Between Tucker's Exit 46 deal in December and hopefully Hobby Park in November we will have some killer racing up here!
