Karr is a Madman!!

ALL(Lenny, DHolt, Ron, gosh I'm at a loss for everyone's names) the Downhill Billy's Rule!

Mr. Leafblower was a great help both days! The start ramps were great! The courses were great!

The sign-in table at the Best Western and racer info-packets were well done.

The Chicago Freak Bros put on a great warm-up event on friday.

Twayzar and Tucker made the timers work the way they should.

Gosh I wish I could remember everyone's names and exactly what they did, but EVERYONE was instrumental in the DHB crew as well as a few guest race helpers.

The 2005 DHB Dixie Cup was a great model for any group of skaters anywhere to follow the example of the Downhill Billys and just get along, pitch in, and make it happen. These guys were the tightest AND FRIENDLIEST bunch I've ever witnessed as far as group collaboration goes at running a race. A lot of these guys didn't even race and I think a number of them don't even do slalom(.....yet).

I'm really glad I got to go to the 1st DHB Dixie Cup, and hopefully I'll get to go to the 2nd one as well.

Thanks Everyone for a good weekend!!-Paul
I just dig slalom!

This just in at DHB World Headquarters compliments of Barry Whitesides local vert skater and photo dude.....Marty Schaub shredding the streets of "Mayberry"*.....

*The "real" Mayberry is a town called Mount Airy, North Carolina, the birthplace of Andy Griffith and home of the Snappy Lunch, Floyd's Barber Shop, and Wally's Service Station, all real places there. The Snappy Lunch is famous for serving a deep fried breaded boneless pork chop sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and chili. Heart attack on a bun!

So I'll need a shorter wheel base (TS board) for the Saturday race, I'm thinking, and a longer wheel base (GS) for Sunday?

I hate I'm missing the Friday night outlaw. :(

Laura,

A short wheelbase for Saturday would be adviseable. As far as Sunday is concerned, I don't know how to answer because I don't know what's going to happen with the "A" and "B" course. Last year I did not drop in the "A" course but rode the "B" only and did it with ease on my Turner Blackbird. It's has a 19.5" wb.

In case you're wondering here's how we do the Sunday GS: we set one course on the whole hill. Farther down the hill we install a second tape switch. When the racing starts some of the skaters take the whole hill and others drop in a little lower. We run the courses simultaneously as they both use the same finish line. Skater 1 will start at the "A" start, Skater 2 starts lower down at the "B" line. It allows skaters who aren't all that skilled in GS to still race in a different bracket.
