I drove up to Asheville today to meet with Philip and take a look at the spots for the Asheville Mountain Sports Festival slalom races. Philip has scopred out a new development on the west side of town vacant of any occupants. Some model homes are at the entrance but the developer is very enthusiastic about bringing some recognition to the neighborhood. It will be pretty much deserted for nothing but slalom skaters and possible downhillers. Philip is working to secure another venue for DH but if that falls through this location already secured will also see the DH racing on the "SGS" hill shown below.
