Site sponsor schedule 2006 - Complete, thanks!

Post by Jani Soderhall » Thu Nov 24, 2005 10:56 pm

In order to keep this site running we now invite monthly site sponsors for 2006.

<Jan 25 update: The list is complete. Thank's everyone. /Jani >

Every month paid will give you one vote in the community for the site and for ISSA. Company votes are welcome but will be in the name of the person behind. Although previous sponsors are most welcome it would also be good to invite new sponsors to sign up. Anyone?

Current hosting costs are approximately $15 per month, so the monthly sponsorship gives a small surplus that can be used for other things. Ideas welcome (create another topic for that discussion)!

Donald,

I appreciate your offer and I'll repeat (in public) my reply to you:

a) We've all spent a lot of effort getting the forum to where it is. Moving it may by risky and I'm not sure it's worthwhile disturbing the situation we have. We have a stable provider right now and we've got all the necessary routines around it. Costs are fairly low and the monthly payments even give a small surplus that can be used for a good cause when needed.

b) Maybe more importantly, I don't have the time to investigate your proposal, evaluate the pros/cons, make the move, get new routines working to backup, inform those who need to be informed etc. (call me lazy if you like)

If somebody else wants to take over all or part of what I do (not so much anymore), you're more than welcome. I don't think I can spend much time on the forum this coming year anyhow.

Where does the money go?

Post by Wesley Tucker » Wed Jan 25, 2006 3:31 pm

Carsten,

Jani GETS the money and the Internet Service Provider (ISP) is PAID in order to keep this site running month to month. I believe the monthly charge is @ $23.00 American monthly.

There is a small surplus of a few dollars each month. So far I think it has added up to enough to buy a round of coffee and some pastry. Eventually the plan is to consider buying an ISSA-owned timing system or some other necessity to skateboard slalom racing.

Justin,

Do you want to take over my month?
Would be good for the membership listing. We get one more member and I get one vote less, good for everyone!

I collect the cash and pay for the hosting. There should be more than a few dollars put aside in the bank each month (currently on my paypal account). I will do the accounting when it's needed and let you know the account balance. But maybe that's not really what you asked for.

I use the paypal account issa@slalomskateboarder DOT com for the collection of this money.

Stefano,

It's too late for 2006. We've got the sponsors we needed. However I suggest you become a member of the ISSA (€20 or $25). Paypal to issa@slalomskateboard DOT com. It'll also give you access to the new Private ISSA Members only forum started this morning. I think it would be great if you would join, we need an active Italian representative.

Thanks!

Paypal 20€ to issa@slalomskateboarder DOT com

It's the same price as the normal ISSA membership. As an added benefit you get your name as the monthly sponsor on the site itself.

If you don't have Paypal email me.

Stefano,

I'll use the payment for the monthly sponsorship as it also includes an ISSA membership.
So save your money next month. Unless you want more votes. Every payment gives one vote, up to a maximum of 5. But you can also wait and see how it all comes along before comitting to another vote. There's no hurry, you're in!

Thanks!
