IMHO:
Everytime I see someone double pump in a course or even triple pump, I think: "there is a cone or two missing there" or "the hill is not steep enough"
I think every course should be set in a way that no multipumping is possible. Then again I am not a GS expert...............so my post might be totally worthless...
just my 2c

brad:what you don't see you won't understand
bottom line
let somebody capture your run and have a look at it afterwards
this REALLY helps
you will see for yourself what's wrong then
all this bitching around with different wheels and stuff won't help you now-your technique is the point-so get things going on that level.
double,triple pump
a few guys out there don't do that and they lead the world ranking.
some others do and they lead too.
so we come back to riding skills....
maybe you post a clip of you up here-this would help you more than anything else,so you can get some decent comments on how to improve.

Dammit Janet!!!
Brad,
Show up at Trade Sunday at 9:30 and do what feels best for you. Single, Double, Triple? If you can pull it off, go for it. Triple rips on a TS? Go for it. If any pump does not set you up for the next gate then it's wasted effort in my opinion. Per Kenny, Bomber, etc...BE EARLY.
But until you can practically transfer this advice to a hill, It's lip service. Practice is your key. Come....Skate....See what I mean......
