wanting to create a scene in Oklahoma

Hey Guys,
This is my first post, and I managed to find you guys through Silverfish. It seems like everyone on there has been a great help!
I am pretty new to slalom, and I was introduced to it by Shaun O'Brian of Pressure Drop Longboards. We have a steady crew of about 4-5 people that come to kill cones with us.
I really would like to get more riders out with us, so we can eventually start hosting sanctioned races.
Last Saturday, Shaun O'Brian of Pressure Drop hosted the Arcadia Jam Banked Slalom Race, and we had about 15 people show up, and 6 people entered the race, despite the threat of winter weather.
Any tips on how to recruit more riders, and build interest in slalom would be greatly appreciated!
