Yeah thanks, Rick. It's overly in-depth compared to that Summary feature of THAT website, but that's better than nothing and it's better this way sometimes. It sure would be great if we could remove the Off-Topic Forum posts from these search results.

Rick,
Thanks for posting this. If you click Search in the small menu in the upper right coner it leads you to the main Search Page. Don't enter anything and then click the main search button, bottom center. Wa-La

I don’t know if it can be implimented by AdamT or not, but I would like to see a ‘history-index’. This would involve the most-recently-posted-to-forum moving to the top of the index. Having to search and/or hunt the current index just to see if there are any new posts is the main drawback for this website. This history-index would not be intended to replace the current one, but would be a separate page/option, accessable from the regular forum index.

Looking for new posts?
I typically look for new posts by entering the date. To look for all posts on and after a certain date just enter the year and the month. So for instance I would enter in "2003-04" into the search field and I would find all the new posts. If the same discussion thread is listed more than once- it just means more than one response was made to that thread since that date.
So enter the date and see what is going on. Much easier than trying to read all the dates.
Also people should feel free to add to existing threads even if they are old. Adding to an existing thread merely pops it up to the top.
If you have a question about a topic as a newbie- don't be afraid to ask. The quickest way to get better is to ask questions- adjust your gear and style and courses- then skate and come back asking more questions.
My hope is that this will be a resource for those newbies to get good.
Many people seem to be "Lurkers" on these sites for a long time- that's fine, but try using the search feature to find answers to your questions and then start clocking some times. The sooner you come to a race and get your ass kicked- the sooner you'll get better and understand all of this crazy dialog.
Other tips ...anyone?
