Hi, Antrim Skaters:

Just a note to thank you for coming to Antrim again this year. The weather was fantastic, the crowd happy, and hill fast! What more could you ask for? OK, so you want more money, a rope tow up the hill and a suite at the Maplehurst. And Kurt wants more women. We're working on all that.

The organizers of the Home & Harvest Festival are thrilled with the turn out for the festival, and we're all looking forward to having you all back next year. THANK YOU!!

Hi, Old Gold Jug Racers:

I want to give you an update on the race specifics, as we have some racers who can come only one day over the weekend.



We welcome as many of you as possible come and practice on Friday afternoon after 3 p.m. as we hope to get some TV news crews there this year on Friday, which we hope will in turn bring in spectators for Saturday's race. We moved the dates of the festival later one week in order to not compete with the NASCAR race in Louden, NH like we did last year--which sucked up all the regional press coverage.

Anyway, you'll have a chance to practice on the hill Friday afternoon 9/21 between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

SATURDAY
8:30 Soapbox; We have the Soapbox Derby between 8:30 and 10 a.m. No skaters are allowed on the course during this time.
10:00 Prelims; Qualify for the main race 10 a.m. to 11:15
11:15 Parade; All racers are invited to participate in the Parade @ 11:15
12:00 Hybrid Race -- This is the Race for the Old Gold Jug. Starts at noon, immediately following the parade. This is the main race of the weekend, with 1st Prize $300.00 and an earthware jug of local maple syrup. 2nd Prize is $200 and a jug, and 3rd prize is $100 and a jug. This will be the highest attended race for the weekend, and the awards will be handed out just before the fireworks.
4:30 Amateur Race; At the conclusion of the Hybrid, the amateur race will take place, between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Prizes will be manufacturer-donated gear
5:30 BBQ & Fireworks at Tenney Farm

SUNDAY
12 Noon; Blessing of the racers -- Need some Divine intervention? This will a bit like the blessing of the fleet . . .
12:05 GS Race Winner gets $100 & a small jug, 2nd is $50 and 3rd gets gear & glory. Awards given at the conclusion of the race.

2:30 Reset for Slalom Race

3:00 Slalom race; Winner gets $100 & a small jug, 2nd is $50 and 3rd gets gear & glory
Have to check with Joe, but maybe reset this on the reverse of the hill, on the Main Street side so it's ready to go earlier?

+/- 5 p.m. Head for Home!

Welcome, Old Gold Jug Racers!

We are thrilled you're coming and are trying to make your stay enjoyable for you and your family. As was the case last year, we are offering free camping, and have recommendations below for those of you who would like more civilized accommodations at your expense.

Your $25 register, you will be given meal tickets for:
- Friday night-- Light Supper Presbyterian Church 5:30 - 7:30 This dinner is followed by a contemporary Christian music concert by Nashville recording artist JJ Heller
- Saturday morning -- Breakfast Presbyterian Church 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Saturday lunch -- Sandwiches, local apple, chips, soda to provided by the Antrim Baptist Church. Served on the hill. Free cold water will be provided all day on hill.
- Saturday night -- BBQ / Live music / Fireworks at Tenney Farm 5:30 - 7:30 (transportation provided) Burgers or chicken,Tenney sweet corn (worth coming to Antrim for!), chips, drink.
- Sunday AM -- Continental breakfast at top of the hill

An Old Gold Jug T-shirt is also covered in your registration.

Sunday's lunch will be at your expense.

Food vendors will also be around the race course on Saturday and at least one on Sunday, so you have other options that are not part of your registration. Those of you who choose a B&B for accommodations will receive breakfast with your housing. For planning, please let us know if you'll be attending the dinner Friday and public breakfast on Saturday.

We will be charging for seats in the grandstands at the finish line. Anywhere else on the course will be free. In the spirit of the Farm races in New England, any residual from registration and the proceeds from the seats will go toward a funding skateboard equipment in Antrim.

yo, who else stayed at that bed and breakfast at the bottom of the hill (across the street from the pizza place, i forget the name) that was haunted by the little girl who walked the hallways at night and stole toilet paper, that was also ran by the man with only 3 fingers on his left hand..... I'm camping this time!

I agree with Karl, Brian and Joe I did an awesome job with the race last year. It's great Antrim wants us back. I still can't get that perfect pavement out of my mind!

The race last year in Antrim was incredible. The hill is perfect. The ramps are a piece of master carpentry. I kinda want one for my living room. I have never ever been treated or fed so well by an entire town supporting a skateboard race. Antrim is an example that hopefully more towns all over the world will follow.


I loved going up with my buddies and camping out. For me last years race was the first time I really pushed myself at a race and did well.

The beginner slalom was a really great idea. Antrim had the best crowd and spectators of any race I've been to. We got them stoked after the main race and made several new converts to the slalom way of life.




This is Adam Proctor from Salem MA. A couple weeks before the event Adam made his own slalom board to bring to try out. With some new designs his company North East Cabana Flow will be producing slalom decks, all because of such a good experience he had. I'm sure he will want to donate swag again for this years contest.

Really great news Brian! There was a great buzz after this race last year, this year, we'll have a bigger crowd that wants to attend. I look forward to making this one of the best races of the year.

We actually have a few locals with slalom boards this year. We'll have to make the beginner race a little harder.

Greetings to All:

Put September 22 & 23 on your calendar. The 2nd Annual "Race for the Old Gold Jug" is ON! Everyone had such a great time last year, they can't wait to have you back!

o The race will be 2 days this year, Saturday & Sunday
o Camping will be at Tenney Farm (where the fireworks were last year)
o We moved back a week to not compete with the NASCAR race in Loudon, NH or the Encitas and Kentucky slalom races.
o I'll have the registration posted to ncdsa.com within the next couple of weeks.
o As I read the new sanctioning rules, we're most of the way there. I'll speak with Joe I and Claude to see what we can do to get this puppy sanctioned!

I'll post more details as they become available.
