Glad to hear you are down Glenn!
Saturday June 20th. North of Boston. Last year the location got blown before the race so we are keeping the exact location on the down low.
Issues we have:
-I am working on borrowing a timing system, but if anyone has any ideas about this please let me know.
The parking lot of this place is very Very small. We are going to need to set up a satellite lot and ferry people back to the hill in a van or something. So we need a mini van and a person willing to drive.
Plans are coming together and I think it will be great to see everyone!
Ocean Frog has signed up as the official party sponsor! After the race we will go to Jorre's place for BBQ/ Beer. He has a swimming pool that will also be open. Our very own Bryan "the weasel" Werner is turning 21 so it will be a party for him too.

I'm s'posed to post some "chatter" here to get attention for this event, so here goes...
Pavel is Euro foam foolishness, SK8kings is Cali deadwood, Fullbag AND Kebbek are BOTH made of cheese, Fatboy uses donut filling, PPS stands for Past Prime Skaters, Subsonic is Northwest fog warped, Airflow is all air - the ISSA the FBI, and the CIA, and the BBC, and BB King...and Doris Day...all posers, Ocean Frog? What the F is that - ain't no frogs in the ocean man. Weasel's mom is hot. Dogs that crap in the line are lame. I'd like to change some rules so I get the advantage. You call that a start ramp? If your skateboard has a John Deere sticker on it - you MIGHT be a redneck. JISSA is a front for the People's Front of Judea, or was it the Judean People's Front? I forget. Needham High School AKA "Short Bus" High. Can you guys please stop saying "fastah". Massachusetts in general is just a breeding ground for dogs, frogs, bogs, fogs, hogs and logs. Chimpanzees on Xanax suck, don't bring one.
How'd I do? good?

The greatest sliding wheels ever invented, even if they were not meant for that purpose.
Nice to see I'm not the only one with a set. I'm not pulling em off the Beamer though.
This'll take off, just keep it alive and they will come.

Ah my friend. I have far too many old boards...
I have a well rounded collection of late 70's gear, heavy on Fibreflex and Sims.
I was buying this stuff before it went BOOM on eBay some years back. While most of the good stuff always got good prices, some of it slipped under the radar. I got some Buy It Now's that were WAAAAY underpriced and I basically stole them. I actually got the Powell Beamer at a gagrage sale here in Baltimore.
If I say how much I paid I'll make enemies across the globe.
There is still good stuff out there if you peruse the yard sale scene.
I have much of it in storage but here are some goodies.
hehehehehehe

No Beamer pics - hmpf.
Karl, maybe I killed your thread with my negativity (real or imagined) and off-color commentary...I mean before Bob and I turned it into a vintage gear forum.
So, I take it all back - except for the part about Miss Werner...and Chimps on scrips.
Il n'y a rien comme un Fullbag sous vos pieds.
And I did actually see a frog in the ocean the other day. It was dead, but it WAS in the ocean.
There is a race in the Boston area June 20th. No 7-wheelers.

The Jam is on for sure! I will post up directions later this week. Party afterwards at OceanFrog's own Jorre's house with special celebrations for Bryan's 21st birthday!
Any questions shoot me an email or call 781 492 9312.
Glenn I am super stoked to hear Millie is competing! I can't believe that when I'm visiting boston from Greensboro NC you will be in Greensboro. Will the competition be in the Coliseum? I'll be back tuesday the 23rd if you are still in town. Call me if you get lost or need a restaurant suggestion. Tell Millie good luck!

plan on early start, 8:30-9 set up practice by 10 hopefully. Parking is going to be tough, car pooling is highly recommended.
I am thinking maybe we should have some meet up points around 8:30 for folks coming from the north/ west. I need a rough head count.
Terry do you have the timer?
Special Guest Course Setter maybe will attend.

Hey Karl, you were posting while I was posting. Mine should have been first!
Mish Michaels just said dry AM, rainy PM, rainy Sunday. I don't know - I doubt she would lie to me after all we've been through...
Maybe a wake up and see approach, I'll check in here again to see what you and your crew decide / suggest.

Saturday looks like the better weather day for sure. Cloudy, but only a 10-20% chance of rain right through 3pm...and they keep pushing the rain forecast back later in the day.
I'm driving 3.5 hours and I'm definitely coming down as the forecast stands right now. I can't afford to wait 'til Saturday to make the call - I need to leave too early.
Sunday looks like a washout.
Anyway, you guys can't fool me. I don't believe for a second that y'all would celebrate Brian's 21st Saturday night and then show up for a race the next day. ~:-0

Two weekends in a row for NE slalom skaters where the weather looked sketchy, but the racing went off. Sweet. HUGE props to Terry Whalen for making a fairly long drive and bringing Glenn C.'s timer - even though he is injured and couldn't race - JUST so six of us could get timed runs. He also brought cones, and hung around to run the timing for us. And thanks to Glenn for leaving his wireless timing system with Terry to even make this possible.
Happy 21st Birthday again to Brian Werner - lookin' fast Weez!!
Karl, CMC, Brian and I all raced close in a single lane GS and then a really challenging and fun dual Hybrid set by Brian. Gleb and Matt battled closely too and both are improving every time I see them. We were joined by some area longboarders who took some runs on the Fells soapbox track in between course sets.
Gleb shot some video and hopefully will post one where there was an interesting and slightly scary ending...thatz all I'm gonna say.
Glad I made the drive to jam with some of my NE sk8 bros!
