Figured I'd get the ball rolling with a new thread.

All we still on for the "summit" in Antrim 4/25?

We have a killer spot to hold an outlaw here in Burlington, but it needs to be in early May if possible (busy marina road in summer). We need someone to lend (or bring) us a timer with a 30 second GS-length wire - we have the start ramp/cones/chalk etc.

Let's get a regional scene stoked up this year!!

Weasel - call in sick buddy...wanna sk8 wid u!!

Sounds like a good road trip, if race was on a Saturday it would limit my time off to make it up there.....hmmm

New rule - all NE Outlaw races will be on Sundays...skip church if you have to, we'll find somebody to bless your sorry ass.

VT Bomb Squad / Green Mountain Racing meeting tonight - undisclosed location...KEEP OUT!!

Rick,

I just sat down to post pretty much the same damn thing- let's get this baby off the ground!

April 24/25 Antrim is fine for a Summit. I'm in, and will host... whatever it is. A mini-outlaw, cookout, and pow-wow? I can't afford strippers for this so we'll just have to take turns.

Should we say we talk turkey on Sunday rain or shine - use Saturday as a pre-rain date if we want to skate? Also Sat? There's indoor/outdoor camping to offer, and if our race committee members would like to crash here in comfort I'll look into available options.

So everyone - throw your thoughts out on this thread.

I'm looking forward to the discussion and the racing, and don't forget we'll be making the most of dry Sundays between now and then. If you aren't in my email loop for skate dates, PM me!

Yeah, and at the same time tell the boss you can't work because you HAVE TO go to church.

Religious Exemption is powerful tool. Abuse it... and skate!

Weather looks a little iffy, but I hope we are ON for a skate and a meeting this Sunday.

If the weather looks uncertain it could be more of a "business lunch" and less of a skate, if people feel like traveling? I like to cook...

If it's going to be wet, maybe we can teleconference or telecommute or tele-something. This forum or email or FB?

Let's keep talking, get some dates down!

Still trying to figure out the weekend weather.

Sunday is still the main plan.

I have a complicated Saturday but it could be better day - skating in the afternoon possible for me, skating in the AM for those who want to use the gear and get it going..?

Let me know your thoughts, outlaw conspirators.

I'll check weather tomorrow and update.

Hey, here's another one to throw out there:

I've been asked to do something on skateboarding safety for our upcoming Daffodil Day hoopla (easy there, no laughing) on Saturday, May 1st. This would be at, near, with or after the Bike Rodeo, which is for kids - onsite bike tuning, safety lesson, obstacle/street course, and of course bike decoration! Sometime around noon?

This could be a ramp at the school parking lot and a little demo while that crowd is there - pumping, flat races?

It could be a little demo at the school, then take it to Summer or the skatepark for a clinic, do some in-town recruiting. Skatepark kids won't be decorating bikes with the cops and the mommies...

Or it could be a little demo, then get the heck out of town to hit one of our skate spots and race.

If you are reading this you are cordially invited. Let me know what you think. If this doesn't get far, not worried - we'll probably still do the Sunday Skate.

I know it's late but wanted to confirm - skate and race series meeting, tomorrow.

I'll be at the 202 hill by 10. If anyone wants to get there earlier (to beat chance of rain?) message or email me - I'll check late and early.

Dr. Dan, Dave and I had a great day of GS racing on the 202 hill (best pavement anywhere!) followed by our NE Outlaw Series "Summit" meeting.

The ball is rolling, and so are we...more announcements and siognup info to follow...come join the fun!

First races are 5/15 or 5/16 (TBD) in Burlington (Colchester), VT...likely a Super-G, GS and either a "sport" DH (40mph max) or a Slalom, possibly both of the latter - all single-lane timed events. A "B-class" start is likely to be available lower down the hill, with no start ramp, for the GS and Super-G only.

Anyone wanting to attend the Burlington races, let us know if you have a date preference, Saturday or Sunday.

Today was some FINE skating! I thought we would get rained out soon after noon, but we got a big day in!

Great discussion. The Series is ON!

I sent rough meeting notes to you, Dan and Ryan. Correct or tweak em, pass them back.

When we're good to go with the "official" info lets post it up!

Hey, I'm thinking an October NESRA Race is in order in Antrim. I'd like to make it something with 2 or 3 levels of B/C for the newer skaters, plus GS and Hybrid in open class only.

It might look like:

Kids race - 15 cones EZ
25 Cone Challenge = big kids / B
B-Start GS course, loose and flowing

GS - Open, off the ramp, best of 2 runs - top of hill
Dual Hybrid - Open, tourney brackets, clean courses (1 cone DQ), first one over the line moves up.

I don't see much conflict with US events - anyone have preferences for a race date in October? Saturday 16th, 23rd or 30th with rain dates Sunday. Would Halloween be a ton of fun, or is everyone going Trick or Treating?

I would love to come up to Antrim and race again. On Sundays my Daughter Maddie can come up with me for the kids race. I don't know if she's willing to skip her Hip Hop dance class at noon on Saturdays, but I'll ask. Will this be on PLR or at on the 202 hill?

I can be there for the 16th and or 30th. See you all soon.

Alright I'll call it - call it the last Hurrah, maybe. Can I fly the NESRA flag on this?

A brisk little OUTLAW on Saturday the 30th at the 202 hill. Racing starts at noon. GS, single Hybrid (yeah, I called it hybrid!) and the 25 cone challenge if we get enough kids. Maybe we can sneak in some DH or some other quick and quirky event, like a relay or pump race or something.

No Fee, no real prizes, no rain date. Just skate, race, have some late season fun.

If I find a volunteer (or some inspiration) we might have a cheap lunch on the hill, but if not it's whatever you grab on the way or keep in your trunk. I'll let you know if there's a plan.

If you're in, send me a MSG or email me, a head count would help!

And it's a go. 202 at Noon, Tomorrow (SAT).

Lunch plan is a Rick and Diane's run we'll cobble together on the hill - bring a few bucks or just BYO whateveritis. (My backup plan is two jars of pickles and four cans of Pringles. And a coke).

*

I won't be doing much for the Sunday skates after this but I hope to still get out until it's just plain cold or gets snow cover, so if you want to hit a Sunday (or any other day) between now and March, email or text me!

If weather man says Indian Summer, of course, I'll put out the alert - game on!

Hey, How'd it go on the 30th?

I'll bet you thought I forgot, or lost the results. Well OK, it was first one then the other but it wasn't my fault, I, I... (insert weak excuse here).

This little race turned into what would pass for a lazy, late-season practice. Late arrivals, early departures... a few turned up to run the cones but did not race. I suppose that's not all that surprising for such a last-minute endeavor. The usual suspects finished in the usual order, but just to prove we really did run it -

The race results:

GS

Glenn - 21.805
Ryan - 22.537
Dave - 24.283
Josh - 27.911

Slalom

Rick - 12.243
Glenn - 12.772
Dave - 14.678
Josh - 19.153

There you go. I can finally recycle this crumpled, dirty paper I've been carrying around in my trunk.
