except Dom or Henrik would certainly win in a race, but I must say, Evan has come really far really quickly.

I have put a new news topic on http://www.slalomranking.com with a quick overview of the situation for Rookies in Pro, Am, Women, Boys and Girls classes.
Points are not at all fixed yet. There are still some big competitions out there.

According to my notes Art Pryde entered US Nationals in 2005. This means he was Rookie last year. The rules are tough on him. If it wasn't for that he entered that event he would have had a big chance for the Rookie of the year title this year.
What could save him is if he was junior (-17) 2005 and just moved up to the senior Am class this year. I have no birth year on him.

My vote for Rookie of the Year goes to Evan St. Clair. There are very few riders over the last several years that has come on the scene like Evan.
From his 3rd place at Luna at his first big race to dominating all of the DHB regional events, to blowing minds in the GS at the US Nationals, Evan has proven himself worthy of such high praise.
Evan also represents the sport well and has grown a great deal as a person in his first year in the sport.

2nd year Rookie of the year. Well that is not a bad idea actually. At least for everybody except the pro's where it is quite clear since they decide when they start a pro season. For am's it is more of a coincidense when it happens. But the second year there are no excuses. Then they know what is going on and all the previous years rookies are ready to compete all season long. Which is more fair in a sense.

Rookie
We could see how Rookies progress when they meet the number of contests required for their maximum points. The Rookies with the best record win.
I think there should be a North American as well as an European rookie.

When the season is over and the World Ranking listing is complete.Chris Barrett wrote:not trying to stir anything, just wondering when this is going to be decided.
That's how the Rookie contest is run now.
As most of the main events are over, there's a chance that we already know now, which are the winners.
