After a hint by Claude in a topic concerning the race status discussion for european races I felt invited to quickly overfly the posts above about the DHB Dixie Cup.
Here is my comment from Europe.

Corky,
by all the respect for Your work:

What makes it so hard for You to bend the rules in this case and give the prime status to this race?

I appriciate the fact that You want to be fair, Corky. That is what rules are good for.

But do they help anybody in this case? Did anybody offend the idea of passing a given status over to another supstitute race?
Corky, You know better than me that this sport is developping and with it the races. We better don't stop this, should we?

Adapting the rules to a given evolution without creating advantages or disadvantages for anybody is not a crime.
It helps to motivate those people putting efforts into organizing good races.
Corky, why don't You give back the same respect to these guys and support them as they respect Your role in this game?

Good luck to You race-organizers!

Jack,
I didn't know you were eurofobic. :-) My point of view has nothing to do with any special region. I hope Donald and Steven are proof enough for it.

As I said in another thread:
1. I can follow the rules and get shit for it.
2. I can break the rules and get shit for it.

I prefer the first.

Funny enough, if I where in your shoes maybe I would have thought like you do. And if someone of you where in my shoes maybe you would have thuoght like me. Right now my mission is not to be nice but being fair and square. I have been quite hard towards others as well and I just have to follow it through now. If I would have been forgiving against others before you would have got your status but now it wouldn't feel right.

Corky came up with the system...
Corkly manages the site....
The case was made to change the points for the race....
It was a denied....
It's within the guidelines to deny the request...

done deal

let's move on

We're missing the forest for the trees...it's the race that's important, .....the race would be here even if there were no point system..

It'll probably be ranked higher next year...but this year, we'll all be able to say we were there for the first Dixie Cup Weekend

let's skate

Corky, I'm not europhobic. Give me a break.

Who would you get sh** from? Just a simple question.

It is not about how you feel...it's about being fair.

I think Jack summed it up quite well...
It is not about how you feel...it's about being fair.
I will soon close down this 2005 status forum for USA East so that you all can concentrate on the coming season. Europe is well under way already for 2006 even though there are one more knot to untie.
