Are the ranking calculations staying the same for 2016? Meaning mixed as opposed to the actual level you compete in. Pro, AM, Kids, Masters....

Claude,

With a mixed way of running events out there the ranking has to be flexible enough to handle it all.

What exactly is it that you want to change?

One ranking for individual racers!!!! As previously discussed!!!! ie: Pro/ Am/ Kids/ Women/ Masters..... Regardless of what division they compete in. If there is no Masters Division or not an Open event then it would be better to race Pro and get Masters points then to drop into the Amateur Division to get Masters points....

Declare your status before the first event you enter for the season and that is where your points go.

This already how it works. Everybody have a basic class. To run PRO class or leave PRO class is a personal choice for now.

It's true that when racing PRO class. Then you only get PRO points. No other points from classes you might also be included in (Junior/Master/Woman).

For PROs to be included in other classes when running a PRO/AM event they need also to run specifically these separate classes.
PRO/AM events are normally bigger events where having a separate Junior/Masters/Woman class is quite logical.
Some PRO's 45+ might be interested in the other classes but then again some might not care.

Just important for the organizers to know this when creating PRO/AM events.
If creating OPEN events then all is handled automatically.

So the rule of thumb can be:

"If you're planning a Pro/Am separation, make sure you create a Masters class too."
"Open events are automatically sorted out, giving all racers points in all classes."
