been watchin this tread from the sidelines... I knew you guys could make me feel like shat for missin out...lol

Man, I'm so stoked everything went off clean for all you "Freaky Kill Daggers" and the kids too!! I've seen some of that young skating talent in Chicago
and if it gets applied to slalom who knows where it'll go.

catch ya'll later this summer, Tod

How friggin' great was that?......
Alan, you and the Chi-town guys put on a great race. Just further proof that you dont need big sponsors, huge advertizing and months of planning to host a great event. Just great brothers, a great location, smooth pavement, a great city and allot of stoke.
Thanks for kicking off the summer in style, i hope you do another later in the year.
A few things of note:
A course doesnt have to be steep to be fast
Chicago locals are some of the friendliest city folk I've ever seen
Chicago cops are very cool about a bunch of folks having fun...even without a permit
Chicago area roads are incredibly jacked. every other exit was closed on the way out....we couldnt get out of the city....i damn near expected Rod Serling to pop up on the road side to tell us there was no way out.
Nothing caps off a 4.5 hour car ride better than seeing a city skyline.
Fadell gets psyched up on the Planet Of the Apes soundtrack...i thought that was insane at first, but after i listened to it, it definitely gets you pumped up,.....cant figure out why.
If you go to Chicago, spend the weekend....or more.
Chicagoland skaters rock
St Louis skaters rock
Sidlos torsion trucks are the real thang. The guys riding them were actually getting torque off the rear. If i didnt see it, i wouldnt believe it, gotta get me one of those.
And last but not least
The Midwest slalom scene is alive and well....
Thanks for a great weekend

weather is still looking good for saturday.we plan on getting out there at 1;30pm.we will set the course,do sign ups and run practice at the same time.everybody coneheads on the way back up the hill.not a lot of rules besides the obvious ones(not like in paris where i was called d/q for criddling the wrong side of the cone).we will have water and prizes for the 13 and under.cash for the open.hers to a great day this weekend see you all soon.cf

guys,i hope you all can make it.looked at the weather and it looks good so far.the park is hilly,i would compare it to st louis, but concrete.we will set 30 cones with a timer and push box.alan has photos he can email to you or might have them on slidegear.com.chicago has a hostel, look for it on the web.its a big brand new one and it is blocks from the site.taste of chicago will be on full force that weekend as will the parks which are 10mins away.the idea ,is to do the race in a couplafew hours, then rage, the city skating is especially cool.we (al,me,cnova)set the course sunday and ran it for a couple hours,it should be rad.wheels, think 80 or 82a.this hill is mellow, but you can generate speed no sweat and i think it is a good hill for t/s.my cell is 773 793 3219 if you have ?s.cf
