SkateParks:

-Burnham @ about 31 St. and Lake Michigan

-Wilson south of Evanston (700 Western). This is where we had the '07 park slalom death race (Hell Fadell won that I think).

Grant Park by the museum has some fun lazy long boarding hills and curves. Watch out for the expansion cracks on the downside of most of the walkway bridges.

To help with the burbs we kinda' need to know where you want to skate roughly. We have a spot out by the arboretum on 88 but this can only be skated weekends.

Bump for some skaters in Chicagoland.

I'm new to slalom, but hope to do a lot more when it gets nice out.
I'm way out west in Batavia,

There's gotta be some others out there!

And what happened to ChiXill?
Ya gotta support the local economy!

There's going to be a contest in Arlington Heights March 21. Chi+ill will be there. The guy setting it up (Phil I.) is a member of Chicago Longboard Society. I think you are too, aren't you Larry? I was kinda hoping for a big turnout from CLS members.

Yep, I'm planning on being there for that. I actually just found out about it a couple of days ago. I hope it warms up by then!

Larry, the office parks around the aboreteum are rich with sites and low bust.ChiXill Is underground.I still have some decks but have been too busy to keep up with stickers and tshirts.i have put a lot of energy into riding snow ,water and asphalt versus breathing fumes and loooking for cheap boxes to ship in.Still riding and still have a sick ass quiver made up of boards i designed with friends.
you guys bring some energy to the table and there are a few good dudes like oles, harms, graf and mangels and myself who could help organise. Also, you get harms, oles or fadell to a race, they are tremendous teachers too.

Thanks C. I'll be scoping around the Arboritum for spots.
I also have a used ChiXill on the way, Damaged Ink. Can't wait to see it and start rippin' it.

I definately hope to meet up with some of the local 'old guard' as the weather warms up.
I'm sure there's a lot to be learned from the guys around here.

Sounds like March 21st there's going to be something going on.

Well although it's snowing maybe one of the good days we should set up a slalom thing. I've been trying to start learning how to do slalom, but it seems that there is no one around for that especially looking at this thread that shows the newest message at more than a year ago.
