Hey folks...i'm curious....i put down some cash for the new front that's coming out, but i was wondering if it was a split axle like the rear?......I've tried a Silverspace (from www.sk8shop.ch ) before and it was fine for GS, but not for TS as they advertised...what'd nice is that it sits pretty low. The Randals we cut down sit rather high due to the hanger height, with the axle over the kingpin....Is the axle on the front split fires going to be parallel with the kingpin, similar to Radikals?

The front split-fire lives up to it's name - it does indeed have a split axle.

As of today the DS-105 is here...If interested contact Gary at asphalt playground...Quantities are limited but there is more on the way...90 mm is a few weeks out as well as 90 mm rears...

That is a randall baseplate, just a standard R-2...we are in design phase on hangars for the fronts, but they wont be available for a while, we need to get a batch of 90mm's done first, then we will probably do a run of baseplates...

DS107 Front Split is up online for ordering at <a href="http://asphaltplayground.com/trucks.html"> asphaltplayground.com </a>. They are $99 for hanger only. No base plate as yet. We're working on selling these with RII base, but not there yet and many of you have a Randall base laying in wait to interface with the hanger so we've made these few that we have available for sale.
I'm running mine with white barrel Khiros (these come with the hanger by the way), with quite a lot of wedge. I love the feel of this truck. No slop. Just a simple hanger that turns quick and grips like a mo fo. We ran some very tight runs last week (5'-6' at speed) and i have to say, I'm stoked. Can't wait for the 90mm for the really gay tight stuff.

By the way, we went a bit overboard on the axles. You can run these as 130mm if you want. It's a super G truck, it's a tight truck.

The nice thing about making your own trucks is that you can embezzle!

Thanks Gary! I rode th rear a bit..It's really smooth. My front should arrive any day and I posted on NCDSA re: wedges, You guys probably saved my limp wrists from threading/dethreading 10-32s all day!! I'm gonna start w/ a 10 degree front (the deck has 7 built in!

The axles on the DragonSlayers are the same width as the axles on the Split Fire rears that Gary has been selling. The actual useable width is 127mm.

I'm loving the new front Split. Even on an RII baseplate, Wax's new hanger is sweet sweet sweet. I rode it at Hackett's outlaw yesterday and am totally sold. Rock solid. Perfect turning. Stable at speed.

A very highly placed racer ran the course on it and told he would have done even better in the race with it. Don't ask who. He'll post if he feels like it.

The new truck doesn't make my modified midtrack obsolete just yet. Let's see how much I run the mid from now on though.

Gary, Wax, the truck looks cool, but every time I see that topic, "New Front Split," for some reason this is what pops into my mind.

Harms....Its ok with us, any picture of a fit female in minimal clothing is better than a pic of 40 yr old men in lycra (although, I must state that neither The SplitFire DragonSlayer, nor its designers condone slalom discrimination)...and thanks for the truck comment, I am so stoked to be working on a project like this, how many people have made a truck designed, refined, built, tested, and sold by skaters, we have our hands in the whole bowl of pudding. Looks like 50 degree baseplates will be the first to release, then 60's ...

The front Splits will be available WITH RII 50 degree base starting next week. asphaltplayground.com will offer two options when ordering.

Gary..the front arrived...again, top shelf workmanship....couldnt ride it much yet due to the never-ending-winter, but it turned great from what i did do

I was at first concerned that it wouldnt pump as well as a conventional truck, but found out that the opposite was true.

Definitely a great buy for my GS deck

Dan used to build Seismics with hollow 8mm steel axles. Maybe Marley could have used one of those.

Wait till you get that front dailed dude. You wont believe how well it grips. I was laying it into hard offsets and the thing wouldn't give up the turn. Weird and beautiful and simple.

90mm's have been cut...the saga continues.

I just spoke with Gary...He will be sending out the latest Batch of DS107's soon....they are a new, more svelt profile.....the next batch of 90mms will be the new profile also...
